| | GREENWICH ARTS COUNCIL NOT YOUR USUAL ALPHABET JANUARY 3
With such an overlooked everyday visual, it's easy to dismiss the alphabet from any artistic essence. From something that we learned in our very first years of life, to something that we now use almost more than we speak - letters are the very thing we want to put to the test. In this upcoming exhibit 'Not Your Usual Alphabet', we are looking for a unique, 'unusual' spin on letters, and/or numbers, presenting them in a new and expressive way. This exhibit will be juried by international artist Reso, and with works by featured renowned artist BlusterOne. |

ODDFELLOWS PLAYHOUSE CALL FOR TEACHING ARTISTS Like many arts education organizations, Middletown's Oddfellows Playhouse is finding it challenging to hire all the teaching artists that they need this season, and are looking to expand. 1. We need an experienced Theater Teaching Artist to teach an Introduction to Acting class for ages 6 - 8 on Thursdays, 4:45 - 5:45 pm, January 13 - March 3 at Oddfellows in Middletown.
2. We need various experienced Teaching Artists (theater, circus, dance, music, drumming and visual arts) to work with middle school and elementary school students in the Middletown Public Schools after-school (mostly 3 - 4 pm or 4 -5 pm) between January and May, 2022.
3. We are also looking for DESIGNERS (scenic, costume, sound, lighting and properties) for our main stage theater productions in the winter/spring.
All classes and productions are in-person in Middletown, so a certain proximity to Middletown is needed, but you know how far you may be willing to drive for a gig...
If you think that you might be interested, please reach out directly to Dic Wheeler at dic@oddfellows.org at this email or call (860) 347-6143. If you know people who are qualified and may be interested, please feel free to share. |

Forging a career in the arts is never a simple, straightforward, nor easy endeavor, but there is simply nothing more rewarding for those of us called to the arts. This panel, consisting of six professional artists from The Norwalk Art Space, will help students learn more about what it takes to build a career in the arts. These artists are working at The Norwalk Art Space for the 2021-2022 year as mentors for earlier-career artists and local high school students. Questions from students will drive the discussion with the artists. All questions and curiosities welcome! Pizza and gift cards to be provided by Melissa Wilkinson Foundation.
Six mid- to late-career artists form our panel on December 18th. These Korry Fellows are working at The Norwalk Art Space for the 2021-2022 year as mentors for earlier-career artists as well as high school students in the area |
