I just got off the phone with Doug Albregts and newly appointed President and CEO Mike Marusic.
It was a bummer of a chat as they told me Doug had received an amazing opportunity he just couldn't pass up, leaving Sharp at the end of this month.
Doug reiterated several times that he was not looking to leave and this just kind of happened.
While I'm very happy for Doug, this is a complete bummer for the industry.
Doug made a lot of great changes and saw Sharp through some incredibly difficult times, eventually moving them into their new building and even bringing jeans into the mainstream!
Dealers love Doug and he will be greatly missed. He has been a pleasure to work with and cover over the years and he's become a great friend.
I wish him a ton of success in his new role and congratulations to Mike on taking over the spot, he's a great choice and he's perfect for the positions!
