The auspicious festival of Ugadi is significant because it is a New Year’s Day which occurs on the onset of spring season, marking the beginning of a happy, blissful, healthy flourishing and successful year ahead. This day will expel negativity, multiply your beliefs and confidence. Also negates all your weariness, favoring financial growth and eradicate your negative doshas.

The ancient Sanatana Dharma of India celebrates many festivals in a magnificent and a splendid way. Of the many festivals that Hindus celebrate, Ugadi is one such special festival, and which also is the beginning of a New Year, according to the Vedic calendar followed in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This Festival is dedicated to Universal Shakti and Divine Mother

The year of Plavanama (name of the past year) ends on the dark night of New Moon, marking the end of the month of Phalguna and the winter season (shishira rituvu). Due to intense cold in the month of shishira, all the leaves in the trees are dry and falling. Spring follows January and February, which changes the whole ambience. The beauty of the signs of new growth, new leaves and blooming buds are indescribable and incredibly beautiful.

Welcoming and embracing the new year of shubhakritu with the bright lighting and radiance of shukla paadhyami- the first lunar day of the fortnight marks the beginning of new thresholds, creations, innovations and inventions and many more.

Ugadi,as per the Telugu Hindu calendar, is celebrated on the first day of the waxing phase of the moon in the month of Chaitra. Each Telugu calendar year has a specific name, and this year, the auspicious festival of Ugadi 2022 is called the “Subhakrithu”. This day is also called the Chaitra Shukla Paksha Padyami

The past year of Plavanama gave us many unpleasant and negative experiences. We are now greeting and embracing “Sri Shubhakirtu” nama year filled with joy, bliss, and happiness.
