Subject: Embrace the Divine Grace of Lord Shiva on the Auspicious Occasion of Shivaratri Feb 18, 2023

Maha Shivaratri

February 18, 2023

An auspicious festival of Maha Shivaratri falls on the 13th or the 14th night of the new moon during Krishna Paksha. The Sanskrit term, Krishna Paksha means the period of waning moon or the dark fortnight and Phalgun/Magha corresponds to the month of February, March in English Calendar. Shivaratri Festival is celebrated on a moonless night.

On this day, the planetary positions in the Northern hemisphere act as potent catalysts to help a person raise his or her spiritual energy more easily.

Lord Shiva, also known as Mahadeva, represents the essence of pure consciousness, transformation, and regeneration. On Shivaratri, we come together in devotion and celebrate the divine presence of Lord Shiva.

Through fasting, prayer, and meditation, we purify our minds and souls and connect with the transcendent aspect of Shiva. One of the key rituals performed on Shivaratri is the Rudra Abhishekam and Rudra homa to purify the soul and seek blessings.

The ancient scriptures, including the Vedas, Puranas, and Upanishads, shed light on the philosophical and spiritual aspects of Mahadev. Shiva is the source of all creation and the key to liberation and self-realization.

On Shivaratri, we come together to celebrate the divine presence of Lord Shiva and seek his blessings. Through this festival, we strive to attain spiritual knowledge and liberation, and deepen our connection with the divine.

We invite you to join us in this celebration of the divine, to purify your mind and soul, and to connect with the transcendent aspect of Lord Shiva. May the blessings of Lord Shiva be upon us all.

Amma wishes you all a blessed Shivaratri
