| Subrahmanya Swamy Moola Mantra Homam
Oct. 29 - 7:30 am (IST)
Lord Subrahmanya (Muruga), the divine
warrior, can eliminate obstacles and fulfill your desires. Some of the
unique characteristics of Subrahmanya are his propensities to destroy
demonic forces, resolve real estate problems, confer health blessings
and overcome debts. Propitiating Lord Subrahmanya by performing this seed sound
homam with 1150 recitations can help you attain immense prosperity by ensuring success,
victory over enemies and overall success.
Subrahmanya has six heads and is an embodiment of
perfection. He is a war god and brave leader of God’s forces, created to
destroy the demons which represent the negative tendencies in all of us. Subrahmanya
tends to the spiritual growth of aspirants, having the fire and energy to lead
the army towards moksha. He represents transmutation of sexual energy and
utilizing such energy for spiritual evolution. He takes care of health, family
life, healthy children, and assets such as land, etc. Fire and Mars relate to Subrahmanya.
Those who are suffering with Rahu, Ketu, Kala Sarpa Dosha (in
the Vedic chart, people whose planets sit between Rahu and Ketu.), and those
having kaal sarp (curse of the snake) should worship Subrahmanya. According to Vedic scriptures, Subrahmanya is the snake god.
Those who carry the curse of the snake should awaken the nadis. In other words,
meditate and worship Subrahmanya. |

| | Hanunam Homam
with Manyu Suktam
Oct. 29 - 7:00 pm (IST)
Hanuman is one of the great heros of the Ramayana; the
divine monkey, son of the wind, who helps Lord Rama rescue his wife Sita,
defeat the demon Ravana and his army, and destroys Lanka. As such, his homas bring the qualities of strength, power, devotion to a higher
reality, and contentment.
Hanuman homams are beneficial to help soften and balance the influence of Rahu, Mars and Saturn, and to strengthen the protective influence of the planet Jupiter. According
to the Vedic tradition, the best time to influence the planets is
before they change signs, so this is the perfect time to perform this Hanuman homam to soften the influence of these important planets as Jupiter transits into Capricorn.
Manyu Suktam is an ideal partner to the Hanuman homam. This mantra comes from the Rig Veda, 10th manala and consists of
14 verses that invoke Rudra (Shiva) to eliminate enemies, obstacles,
and purify bad karmas and ill health. The text reads in part:
Come here Manyu, mightier than
the mighty; chase away our enemy... bring to us all kinds of wealth and
treasure. I may be small and weak, O Manyu come to me and give me
vigor.
O Conquerer, born with power and a destructive bolt of thunder,
the highest conquering might is yours...Unyielding bring victory like
Indra, O Manyu...give us the wealth of both sides gathered and
collected; And let our enemies with stricken spirits, overwhelmed with
terror, creep away and be defeated.
