Palo Duro Canyon State Park

Palo Duro Canyon is the second-largest canyon and largest-driveable canyon in the United States. Its fantastic landscape served as the last home to the Comanche and inspiration for some of Georgia O'Keefe's best-known works. There are a TON of activities available in the Palo Duro Canyon area. The Amarillo Botanical Gardens features several different types of gardens including their tropical conservatory, butterfly garden, and Japanese garden. Wildcat Bluff Nature Center

Visit this beautiful 600-acre nature reserve and experience the Amarillo landscape as early pioneers and Santa Fe Trail travelers did. The reserve has a few miles of trails including one where you can see the impressions left behind from wagons traveling the Santa Fe Trail. The Libb's Trail is a wheelchair-accessible trail that winds around the front of the nature reserve and is surrounded by local flora and fauna. Call 806.352.6007 for information.
