Burns Night 2020
|
Grab your friends and cinch up your clan tartan, kilt, and sporran for the annual Burns Night Celebration, a night of all things Scottish! Hosted by Wildcat Bluff at Starlight Canyon Bed and Breakfast on January 28th at 6 PM. There will be scotch tastings paired with tasty finger foods and haggis, as well as music of the isles by Those Guys, Mike Fuller, James Lee Baker and Keralee Clay, and Neil Nossaman.

I am Legend Open Mic Night

On January 30th at 6 PM, the I Am Route 66 Visitor Center and Gallery is holding an open mic night for Legends 103.9 with Danny Ruiz. Legends 103.9 is looking for local talent to feature on their radio show Lyrics and Legends. There will also be auctions held throughout the night benefit Family Support Services to help them rebuild after a devastating fire.

On January 31st and February 2nd, the Amarillo Bulls will take on the competition at the Amarillo Civic Center Complex! The games start at 7:05 PM and tickets are $9 for children under 12 and $14 for adults.

The Amarillo Museum of Art is displaying this new exhibit until April 5th. Vanessa German is an American sculptor, painter, writers, activist, performer, and poet based in Pittsburgh. German is a self-described citizen artist, and explore the power of art and love as a transformative force in the dynamic cultural exosystem of communities and neighborhoods.

Native Lifeways of the Plains
|
This exhibit showcases the material culture of the indigenous people of the Great Plains. Among the key artifacts featured are Quanah Parker’s headdress and lance, the Kiowa calendar, and a recently conserved breastplate dating circa 1880. Select pieces from the museum’s art and photographic collections are included to help contextualize the objects within the scope of traditional lifeways. See this exhibit during regular museum hours until May 2020.
