Last Chance: Christmas in the Gardens
|
The Amarillo Botanical Gardens will be lit up with 300,000 Christmas lights for you to see December 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd at 6 PM. Admission is $5. You'll be able to take pictures with Santa, enjoy hot chocolate and coffee, and much more. Don't miss this event before it's gone until next year!

Discover for a Dollar - Holiday Edition

Discover family, fun, and science with a holiday twist on December 20th! Enjoy an evening at the Don Harrington Discovery Center complete with Space Theater shows live science demonstrations and critter encounters. Plus enjoy all of their exhibits. They will also be debuting their new holiday show, The Nutcracker Suites in the Space Theater at 6:15, 6:45, 7:15, 7:45, and 8:15 PM. This event is only $1 per person.

DHDC Space Theater Holiday Show
|
The Don Harrington Discovery Center will have a special showing of their new holiday Space Theater show, The Nutcracker Suites. Don't miss this visual extravaganza of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's most famous work! The stereo soundtrack is performed by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and animation is by Ken Scott. Showings will be held on December 21st and 23rd at 11 AM and 3 PM, and December 22nd at 3 PM.

The Amarillo Symphony, the leader of orchestral music in the Texas Panhandle since 1924, present the fourth annual HAPPY Holiday Pops concert presented by Happy State Bank. Come share your favorite holiday music with family and friends. It's a sparkling celebration with carols, classics, sing-along, and Santa held at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts on December 21st at 7:30 PM.

Biennial 600: Textile + Fiber Exhibition
|
AMoA Biennial 600: Textile + Fiber is the eighth in an ongoing series of juried biennial exhibitions exploring specific areas of artistic practice, material, and content. Artworks were selected from entries submitted by artists residing within a 600-mile radius of Amarillo, Texas. AMoA received over 500 artwork entries for this year’s Biennial 600. Artworks from more than 60 artists are included in the exhibition. Come to the Amarillo Museum of Art during regular museum hours to check out this inspiring exhibit on display until December 22nd.

All Charged Up
|
The Don Harrington Discovery Center wants to spark your curiosity of the wonders of electricity in this interactive exhibit. Just as Ben Franklin engaged in hands-on experimentation, you will too! Come by during regular museum hours for this hair-raising exhibit.

Native Lifeways of the Plains
|
This exhibit showcases the material culture of the indigenous people of the Great Plains. Among the key artifacts featured are Quanah Parker’s headdress and lance, the Kiowa calendar, and a recently conserved breastplate dating circa 1880. Select pieces from the museum’s art and photographic collections are included to help contextualize the objects within the scope of traditional lifeways. See this exhibit during regular museum hours until May 2020.
