Sweeney Todd
|
Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth-century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which he opens a new barber practice. Todd's thirst for blood inspires a "new" ingredient in Mrs. Lovett's meat pies that have the people of London lining up...and the carnage begins! This dark and witty tale has garnered eight Tony Awards including one for Best Musical. Don't miss this performance at the Amarillo Little Theatre on October 24th at 7:30 PM, October 25th and 26th at 8 PM, and October 27th at 2:30 PM.
