Texas Panhandle War Memorial's NEW Education Center

Have you made a stop by the Texas Panhandle War Memorial lately? If not, you're missing out! Their newly opened education center honors the efforts and sacrifice of veterans across the region, providing a place for reflection and healing. Don't forget to stop at the War Memorial Park, a beautiful park with monuments and flags dedicated to honor all of our military personnel.

Sod Poodles' Home Games

Head to Hodgetown to cheer on the Amarillo Sod Poodles, 2019's Texas League Champions! This week's games will be against the Frisco RoughRiders!


  • September 15th at 7:05 PM is Bark in the Park! Bring your pups to cheer on the Sod Poodles!

  • September 16th at 7:05 PM is Thirsty Thursday! Every Thursday, domestic beers and fountain sodas are just $2.

  • September 17th at 7:05 PM it's time for Friday Night Fireworks! Guests can see postgame fireworks.

  • September 18th at 7:05 PM will be Gold Sox Night commemorating the Amarillo Gold Sox! There will also be a postgame jersey auction.

  • September 19th at 6:05 PM is Championship Sundays! Every Sunday throughout the season, the Sod Poodles will wear their signature gold jerseys to commemorate their 2019 Texas League Championship. Also, all veterans, active-duty military, and first responders will receive 50% off tickets. A Buddy Reed Bobblehead will be given away at the door.

LONESTAR at Starlight Ranch

Country legends, LONESTAR, makes their Amarillo debut on September 17th at 7 PM! Lonestar's signature "Amazed" spent nine weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's country chart during the summer of 1999. The song subsequently climbed to the top of Billboard's Hot 100 Chart, the first country act to accomplish the feat since 1983's "Islands in the Stream" by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. The group began having major country hits in 1995 with the top 10 hit, "Tequila Talking". Their first No. 1 hit was, "No News", which spend three weeks at the top of Billboard Magazin's Hot Country Singles chart in 1996.

Prices and Shostakovich 10

The brilliant Awadagin Pratt joins Maestro Bairos and the orchestra to perform Price’s attractive Piano Concerto in One Movement. The orchestra also performs an Amarillo Symphony premiere of Shostakovich’s epic Tenth Symphony, a serious and uncompromising work of climaxes, marches, and towering brass. This symphony conveys an unconquerable spirit in the face of oppression, and it remains Shostakovich’s most cohesive work. A perfect concert to start the fall series at the Globe-News Center on September 19th and 18th at 7:30 PM.

Texas Photographic Society's 34th Annual Members Only Show

The Amarillo Museum of Art presents this exhibition during regular museum hours until October 10th. The exhibition features 50 expressive images juried by esteemed photographers Jill Skupin and Dan Burkholder.

Women of Abstract Expressionism in the American West

The Amarillo Museum of Art presents this exhibition through October 10th during regular museum hours. Artworks by a number of important artists including Elaine de Kooning, Louise Nevelson, Jeanne Reynal, and Jane Wilson, among others. These women are an important part of the Abstract Expressionist movement during post-WWII era in New York City.

Toys: The Inside Story

Explore the inner workings of toys! If your parents never let you break open your Etch A Sketch to find out how it works, of it you've been wondering how to stop your toddler's push toy from making such an infernal racket, you'll love this exhibit that illustrates the simple mechanisms commonly found in toys! You can have fun at this exhibit during DHDC's normal business hours.

Rock of Ages

Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum opens its newest exhibit on February 27th. This cool exhibit features over 200 rocks, minerals, and gems highlighting the dynamic and intense geologic history of this region and beyond. Come be dazzled by the richness of their color, texture, shape, and intricate patterns.
