As you're enjoying our city, please remember to wear your masks! The CDC recommends that people wear masks in public settings, at events and gatherings, and anywhere they will be around other people. Masks are required on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation.

Aspen Institute Presents AC with Rising Star Award

Congratulations to Amarillo College for being recognized as one of the Top 5 community colleges nationally by Aspen's Rising Star Award!

The award, given every two years, recognizes outstanding institutions from more than 1,000 community colleges nationwide. Rock and Roll Over - Tribute to KISS

Join High Plains Food Bank on May 28th at 7 PM at Starlight Ranch Event Center for Rock & Roll Over - Tribute to KISS their 1st of 6 concerts presented by media partner KAMR/KCIT. Enjoy rocking music and know that you're providing food and hope to the 1 in 6 neighbors, including 1 in 5 children, who currently face food insecurity. Star Light Ranch Event Center has generously underwritten the cost of the concert, so all gate and admission proceeds are a direct donation to the food bank.

Money raised will go directly to food and feeding programs to alleviate hunger in The Texas Panhandle. Foodstock '21...six days of music and food (and peace, too, of course)! Entry is a suggested donation of $10+ per person.

TEXAS Outdoor Musical

Opening May 29th, TEXAS is a family-friendly show set against an authentic tapestry of history, the show's fictional characters bring to life the stores, struggles, and triumphs of the settlers of the Texas Panhandle in the 1800's. Song and dance abound - and a generous helping of good ol' Texas humor too - with spellbinding lighting, special effects, and fireworks.

The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum presents an engaging exhibition that will reveal a vivid picture of what living, breathing dinosaurs were really like! This exhibition introduces how current thinking about dinosaur biology has changed over the past two decades.

The Panhandle Prohibition Exhibition takes you back to the Texas Panhandle in the 1920s. Learn the diversity of music and opinions in our very own recreated speakeasy complete with augmented reality and get your very own mugshot. Understand fashion, consumerism, and politics of the day while listening to some great jazz.

Texas Panhandle Student Art Show

The Amarillo Museum of Art presents this exhibition showcasing student art to recognize all the talented young artists in the Texas Panhandle. The exhibit consists of two parts: Student artworks from grade K-12 and portfolios of artworks from High School Seniors. Eligible works will be judged by Amarillo College Art Professors.

From Here to There

Explore the science of how things move by land, sea, and air at The Don Harrington Discovery Center's new traveling exhibit! Lift, launch, and levitate as you experiment with hands-on exhibits that make learning about gravity, friction, and laws of motion fun. You can have fun at this exhibit during DHDC's normal business hours.

Rock of Ages

Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum opens its newest exhibit on February 27th. This cool exhibit features over 200 rocks, minerals, and gems highlighting the dynamic and intense geologic history of this region and beyond. Come be dazzled by the richness of their color, texture, shape, and intricate patterns.
