Hello!
Mariano, CEO of Saporalia here! Greetings from Italy!
Food
exhibition in Kaohsiung closed just a bit more than a week ago and I hope you
are doing great! For us it was a great experience, it was an honour to meet you and interact with you and thanks
again for your time
Today I
just want to share with you my feeling about why I think that Saporalia
products will have great success in Taiwan! Actually it is very simple: I saw
it very clearly when I was there!
What do
I mean? On Saturday and Sunday when the Food Show was opened also to Consumers,
our Saporalia booth was very busy in many moments of the day. Many people
wanted to buy our products but we couldn’t sell them as we needed the products
for tasting with the operators who were visiting us.. So, we suggested all the
interested people to come back to the booth on Sunday after midday, when we
could be able to sell the products. We had Consumers, but also many Restaurants
owners, keep asking where they could buy our products! It was a good feeling I
must admit..
So
Sunday late morning, people started to queue up in front of our booth and we
finished all the stock in less than an hour!
Here are
some figures:
In circa
45 mins at our booth we have sold
- 50
Boxes of truffle chips
- 20
Almonds with truffle
- 20
Hazelnuts with truffle
- 20
fried piadina in slices
- 10
Jars of Pesto Basil
- 5 jars
of Pesto with truffle
- 10
Jars of Bagna Cauda (Anchovies and Garlic sauce)
- 5
bottles of Extra Virgin Olive oil with with truffle
- 5
Bottles of Balsamic Vinegar Grey Label (1 year aging)
- 2
Bottles of Balsamic Vinegar Gran Reserve (12 years aging)
- 5
Farfalloni pasta 5 colors
The most
interesting aspect of this little test is that we sold all the products at a
price which is 4 or 5 times bigger than the price that Saporalia could sell to
you.. Interesting, isn’t it? Just to be clear: we sold all those products at
400 – 500% more than the price that we could sell them to you!
So this
was for me an additional guarantee that Taiwanese people love good, gourmet,
high end, Italian food and although I always realize that this kind of food is
not for everybody I think that there is an objective opportunity!
Here is
a quick snapshot of some moments of it
