Today is a special day devoted to honoring and thanking the heroes who serve our country and protect our freedoms.
If you are a veteran or active duty, I thank you for your service and sacrifice. If you are a military spouse, partner, parent, sibling, or child who has lost your hero, I thank you for your sacrifice, too, and send prayers and love your way today.
Like many people around the world, Freedom, Safety, and Responsibility
are hot topics in my home and workspaces.
Consequently, I've been thinking deeply, conversing carefully, and even writing about all of this over the last few months while also working on a new book with my 17-year-old son that is all about Freedom and Responsibility. (Geez, that guy really has a way of challenging me to my core on topics that matter to both of us. I can't wait to share more of that project with you as it unfolds.)
Point is, I've shaken my head repeatedly at the realization that I've somehow taken my external freedoms (speech, beliefs, due process, etc.) for granted in many ways over my lifetime while simultaneously devoting my entire adult life to increasing internal, personal freedom in myself and others.
When I asked my Co-Author, "What would You have me share during this challenging time?", the answer came in the form of visceral memories and hard-earned lessons from my own personal freedom campaign.
Of course, I wrote and waited and polished and fretted over the reception of some of my more unpopular ideas for as long as I could before my Co-Author reminded me that my job as a messenger is to deliver the message curated by my personal story with as much love and care as I can, and then let go of how it is received.
So, over the next few days, I'll be sharing some (substantial in size) blogs with you and on Facebook. I hope you'll grab a hot cup of coffee or chocolate, read them curiously, and share your own wisdom back in this direction if Love inspires you to do so.
Oh, and because my Co-Author LOVES to keep me on my growing edge, I'll also be releasing a "40 Days to Freeing Your Message and You" short video series online. If you've been inspired to write, speak, or share a message during quarantine, and would like some extra insight and support from someone who has helped dozens of messengers get their messages on pages and stage, keep on the lookout for that!
Til tomorrow,
