I love how almost the minute I commit my voice to the bigger conversation of using Story and messages to cultivate character and preserve freedom in our children and culture, my Co-Author writes in one of those opportunities to share that very message. I always appreciate those little "winks" that tell me that I'm on the right track and to keep going.
Almost as soon as my son and I wrapped up A Religion of Story and shared our journey of engaging and learning about ourselves and the world through Story and archetypes, I received an invitation to share my story and message at a retreat devoted to helping women live into the Magnetic Queen archetype. How fun is that?
In chapter three of A Religion of Story, I briefly discuss the failures of our current industrial model of learning that emphasizes the head (logic, information, structure) and minimizes the importance of the heart (emotion, experience, intuition) and then invite parents to begin cultivating a new model of learning in their homes... using Story.
Otherwise, we will continue to raise generations that are in pain
but can't speak about it or, worse, even feel it.
And without access to our voices, we lose our ability to
preserve our values, freedom, and personal sovereignty.
My friend, Senami, is doing the same type of work but in a different way. She is helping women balance the masculine energy of the mind (which initiates and drives actions) with the more feminine energy of the heart (which receives and knows the power of pure presence), and become the Sovereign Queens of their lives.
Senami has found herself on a similar journey for the last ten years and has traveled all around the world – from the Black Hills mountains of South Dakota to the lavish jungles of Costa Rica, Mexico or Indonesia, or the ashrams of India, etc. – studying with some of the top names in the fields of women’s empowerment and transformation.
One of the treasures she brought back from this quest was a newfound ability to blend her feminine radiance with the masculine action she already mastered from her scientific corporate career.
Ultimately, she realized that this journey was really about integrating the Sovereign Queen archetype and was able to tap into her own unique Feminine Leadership style that felt truly aligned with her values. Today, she is a catalyst for women to find their authentic leadership style and become the irresistibly magnetic leader they can be.
This existential life project has taken a new turn into soulful conversations with fellow Queens/Kings (including me!).
