| After sitting vacant for the last two years, Northwestern broke ground on a new residence hall where the former PIKE house at 566 Lincoln once stood. The building is the first new construction in the university's master plan. The 140,000 square foot building will have a 422 student capacity organized in suite style rooms. Construction will begin in December and will be ready for students in the fall of 2017. The building's address will be 560 Lincoln. Brothers Participate in Service Event for Animal Shelter
Eight brothers woke up bright and early on Halloween morning to support the Evanston Animal Shelter at the Trick or Treat Trot for Tails. Despite the cold and rain, they joined dozens as they walked from Centennial Park in Evanston to raise money for the homeless cats and dogs at the shelter. Brother Mitchell Victor (’15) said spending time with the animals helped him understand the importance of the work the Evanston Animal Shelter does. You can learn more about their cause here.
Consider Giving to Gamma Rho This Holiday Season
The Gamma Rho Endowment Fund was recently established out of the old Garnet & Gold Scholarship Fund. It is managed by the highly qualified team at the PIKE Foundation and exclusively benefits Gamma Rho. It is comprised of two accounts, the PIKE University Fund which has a balance of $100,000 and the John Jones Memorial Fund which has a balance of $38,000. The PIKE U fund is used to offset the expenses of sending Gamma Rho undergraduates to three unique PIKE U events each year, while the John Jones fund is given for outstanding chapter leadership. To donate to either of the Chapter's Funds please visit the Pike Foundation website here.
The Gamma Rho House Corporation also accepts donations through Northwestern to use for house improvements and renovations. This donation counts as a donation to NU as well. To donate to the House Corporation please visit the NU giving page here and mark your donation for the "Pi Kappa Alpha Building Fund".
Regardless of how you choose to donate to Gamma Rho, all forms are tax-deductible and will be greatly appreciated by the men. We thank you for your donation in advance!
