Gamma Rho Scholarship Endowment Continues to Grow
The GR Alumni Association and Garnet & Gold Scholarship Fund headed by Richard Moenning (‘56) recently transferred the entirety of the fund into the Gamma Rho Endowment Fund which is managed by the highly qualified team at the PIKE Foundation. The fund, which exclusively benefits Gamma Rho, is comprised of two accounts, the PIKE University Fund which has a balance of $100,000 and the John Jones Memorial Fund which has a balance of $38,000. The PIKE U fund is used to offset the expenses of sending Gamma Rho undergraduates to three unique PIKE U events each year including the summer conference. Fees for registration, travel, lodging, and meals can exceed $10,000 annually for the chapter. The Alumni Association has set out with a goal to achieve a balance of $250k in the PIKE U fund in order to fully cover these costs as the annual dividend is typically 4%. | | | | SMC Zach Rubnitz ('14) holding the House of the Year award with International President John Bobango (L) and CEO Justin Buck (R) |

Chapter Brings Home Top Honor at Annual Conference
After earning the House of the Quarter award in the fall, Gamma Rho received the coveted House of the Year award from the International Fraternity at this year’s Academy award ceremonies. The Academy is held every other year in Memphis when the International Convention is in its “off year” with the agenda focusing on leadership development and improving chapter operations. Members of the Chapter that attended the Academy included SMC Zach Rubnitz (’14), Internal VP Joe Farrell (’14), and Membership VP Jacob Kerr (’14) who are pictured below with the award. The feature in the Shield and Diamond for the House of the the Year article will appear in the next issue. Photos of 2313 Sheridan can be accessed on the Chapter’s Flickr page here.
