Chapter Matches Last Year's Record Recruitment
Led by Recruitment Chair Theo Baker ('16), the Chapter has welcomed 34 men into Gamma Rho’s 2018 Pledge Class. Not only is this the largest pledge class in Gamma Rho history (tied with the 2017 Pledge Class), it was also one of the largest for all of Northwestern IFC. PIKE's continued success at recruitment can be attributed to the Chapter's sterling reputation on campus in the academic, athletic, social, housing, and campus involvement spheres - as well as the hard work put in by the recruitment team and all the brothers.
The head of New Member Education, Ben Guzman (’16), had this to say regarding the new class, "We’re excited to get to know the potential new members and teach them the values of the Fraternity and the many benefits that accompany membership into PIKE.”
Potential new members will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun events that will foster friendship and brotherhood. Some upcoming outings on the calendar include going to a minor league hockey game, weekly chapter-wide dinners, various philanthropy events, and involvement in a intramural floor hockey and basketball. Following successful completion of the new member process these men will be initiated into the Fraternity.

Gamma Rho Scholarship Endowment Continues to Grow
The Gamma Rho Endowment Fund which is used for student scholarship and expenses for Pike University is now in its second year. The fund is managed by a highly qualified team at the PIKE Foundation. The fund, which exclusively benefits Gamma Rho, is comprised of two accounts, the PIKE University Fund which has a balance of $100,000 and the John Jones Memorial Fund which has a balance of $38,000. The PIKE U fund is used to offset the expenses of sending Gamma Rho undergraduates to three unique PIKE U events each year including the summer conference. Fees for registration, travel, lodging, and meals can exceed $10,000 annually for the chapter. The Alumni Association has set out with a goal to achieve a balance of $250k in the PIKE U fund in order to fully cover these costs as the annual dividend is typically 4%.
