| | Dance Marathon Letter from the Actives
Dear Gamma Rho Brothers, As you may recall from your own years here at Northwestern, our annual Dance Marathon is soon upon us. I am David Olodort, a current Gamma Rho senior and 2013 initiate, and am a group head for our NUDM team this year. I'm reaching out to ask for your help and support please for an incredibly important and universal cause: fighting child hunger.
I truly believe, more so than any year in the recent past, that this is a mission we can all rally behind. This year's beneficiary, Blessings in a Backpack, provides weekend meals for children across the nation who otherwise would not eat at all until they are back at school again on Monday. Not only is this a horrific thought, subjecting helpless children to hunger and malnutrition, but it also severely drains their educational ability, weakening our school system's mission to foster the next American generation.
Recently, we had the pleasure to host some of these wonderful children. As you can see in this video and the photo below, everybody had a great time getting to know each other and dancing together! I have also included a team photo from last year's Dance Marathon. The team has already raised $36,000 of our $80,000 goal, but we need your help to meet it! A letter that explains in more depth the context behind our cause and how you can best help can be viewed here. As a fellow Gamma Rho brother and gentleman of our great society, you have the opportunity to make a real difference. Please visit our team page and consider donating to this worthy cause.
If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to reach out to me at olodort@u.northwestern.edu or at 310-801-7498. I personally thank you in advance, as I know so do all the brave children that you are about to help.

PIKE Co-hosts Hockey Philanthropy to Fight Cancer, Wins Tournament This year Pi Kappa Alpha came together with the brothers of Phi Kappa Psi, Beta Theta Pi and Phi Delta Theta to organize Dropping the Puck on Cancer, an annual fundraiser among Northwestern Fraternities to raise money for the American Brain Tumor Association. The event is a hockey tournament among the fraternities, which Gamma Rho won. It began at Indiana University and has spread to a few other schools in the Midwest as well. Around 200 students attended, raising more than $5,000 for the cause. Brother Michael Gullott ('15) says plans for next year include expanding involvement from other fraternities as well as including sororities through events and activities that take place between the hockey games. | | | PIKE's hockey team following their victory at Dropping the Puck on Cancer |
