Winter Quarter Recap
This quarter, the men of Gamma Rho welcomed 19 new brothers to the chapter. A rousing initiation ceremony was held on April 2nd, with brothers and alumni in attendance.
The chapter held a week long philanthropy event to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving, in honor of late brother Mihir Boddupalli. Throughout the week, brothers sold cake pops around campus to raise money for Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). The event culminated with drunk driving survivor Sarah Panzau-Evans telling her story to a packed room of Northwestern students. An article in The Daily Northwestern can be viewed here.

The chapter had another successful IM winter season. The basketball team went undefeated in the regular season and made it to the playoffs, where they went 2-1, finishing the season with a final record of 6-1. The hockey team had an impressive 5-2 record overall.
The brothers of Gamma Rho will also be teaming with the lovely ladies of Alpha Phi and fellow IFC fraternity, Beta Theta Pi, for Greek Week, a week of celebration for Northwestern’s Greek community with barbecues, sports tournaments, philanthropies, and a final lip synching contest: Maysong.

PIKE Raises $68,000 for Dance Marathon Gamma Rho had another enormously successful Dance Marathon as 37 brothers participated with the ladies of Kappa Kappa Gamma to raise $68,800, the second highest amount ever raised by the chapter. This year brothers John Gallagher ('13) and Jacob Bergman ('15) raised $4,500 and $2,500 respectively, landing on the list of top 5 individual fundraisers for all of Dance Marathon.
The PIKE/Kappa team, led by seniors Aspen Mori ('12) and David Stillman ('12), gave a strong showing in the special events held by Dance Marathon including winning Dance Marathon Trivia for the second year in a row.
A HUGE thanks to all the alumni who donated to the team this year!
