The First Ladies Forum Summit for Economic Development & Sustainability was held in Dubai last week. My travel plans got hijacked and I almost didn't make it. This was truly a battle!
It took a strong mindset, prayer and money to make it happen. I had many opportunities to give up.
The truth is, you can't do big things on your own. I could not have gotten even close to Dubai without the support of some major people and friends who stood in the gap and prayed, gave emotional support, encouragement and connected me to the right people who stayed up late calling everywhere. It took a village, I'm so humbled with the support I got from these amazing ladies. Princess Moradeun Ogunlana who connected me to her attorney and took my call at all hours of the night then invited me to stay with her longer in her suite. Her Excellency Nephetina Serrano my sister and amazing friend who invited me to participate in this incredible experience, prayed and stayed up late every night until I landed there in Dubai, she continued to encourage me and fight at every step for me, making every arrangement possible. Her Excellency Aprille Trupiano, my prayer warrior sister and my coach Angelique Rewers who encouraged me to go and changed her schedule to allow me to stay longer. Raideesha Francis left her house late Friday night to pick me up and take me home when I was stranded at the airport and couldn't get on the flight to Dubai. All the other ladies in the First Ladies Forum that were also praying for me, thank you so much. It's such a blessing to have amazing people around you and I would have never made it there without the grace and favor of God and these precious women in my life.
Think about the last time you had opportunities to give up but you pushed through with the help of others.
Because my itinerary was delayed by 2 days, I missed the panel discussion and my opportunity to speak at the forum. So was all that trouble worth it? OMG 100%
