Here’s our February update:
ERT completed their two week dive trip to Miami, with a handful of guys opting out and going on two separate deployments with Samaritans Purse in south Texas and Louisiana for rebuilds. Everyone did well and we made the trips with only minor vehicle incidents. (It wouldn’t be an ALERT trip without vehicle issues, eh?)
In addition to the two weeks of diving and deployment the entire unit also spent a week at Lake Swan Camp in Melrose, Florida assisting with renovation projects, sawyer work and general cleanup. It's always a privilege to partner with like-minded organizations and be that link in the chain that helps get the gospel out and minister to others.
In other news: Unit 59 Basic is less than four weeks away. Continue to pray for increased enrollment. We’re looking at the mid to upper twenties right now but hoping for more. If you know of someone that might be interested have them give us a call. We may be able to offer some financial assistance to help offset the cost. For advanced training starting in mid-March we are offering EMT, Flight, Campus Support and Mobile Response Team options. If you are interested in any of these contact us as soon as possible so we can obtain materials for the classroom portions.
Prayer item: Colonel Tanner suffered a mild stroke last Sunday and is now at home recuperating. I had a chance to visit him in the hospital and he is in good spirits and we’re all thankful that he has gained back most feeling with only small residual effects of the stroke still present. Could I encourage you to take the time to send him and Janet a note of encouragement? Their address is 5000 S FM14, Hawkins, TX 75765.
Waynesburg, PA retreat for ALERT guys: A weekend to focus on training or personal help in the area of pornography addiction and how to get free of such. Fantastic video series that will change your perspective and give answers we as men need. April 13-15. Cost is a very affordable $30. Call me for more details. 903-636-9235.
