February 2022
Good afternoon Alumni, First off I want to say thank you to
each and every one of those who were able to attend ALERT's 28 year reunion. It
was great to see some of my friends from years past as well as meet new guys
from "back in the day". It was a great weekend, and very
encouraging for both our staff and our student body to have you all back on
campus. If you were not able to join us for the Reunion, make sure you check
out all the great photos here on our Flickr, and be on the lookout for next year's Reunion dates. We
will be releasing them this summer and would love to see you there! We are also
planning towards our 30th-year reunion just two years away, so mark your
calendars. You won't want to miss it!
As many of you are aware, I am/was
the Commanding Officer over Basic Training before taking on the role of
Director for ALERT. Needless to say that now leaves a gap in our leadership
team in the form of officer staff for Basic Training. Please be in prayer for
us as we look for a new Commanding Officer to fill that role. We are also
praying and planning for the future of our Fire/EMS training, and are looking
at hiring a full-time Fire/EMS instructor/coordinator. Continue to keep us in
your prayers as we look towards these two crucial roles in the ministry. Both
of these roles play such a huge part in the ALERT experience, and we want
to make sure we have the right people in place.
There are a couple of upcoming dates
I want to make sure you are aware of. We have Unit 66 starting in just five
weeks so please be in prayer for the new men joining the program. Please also
continue to pray that God would send us men; without guys in training there is
no ALERT program. We also have the next Caleb Nelson Memorial Race coming up on
March 5. That race is open to all alumni, so if you would like to run it with
us next month, reach out to MSgt. Winkler to coordinate those details. You can
email him at swinkler@alertacademy.com.
Finally, we have received a few job
postings from fellow alumni that I want to make you aware of. You can read each
posting below my signature if you are interested.
As always, please keep us in your
prayers. We could not do the work of discipleship here at ALERT without the prayers
and support of our alumni. I am thankful for each one of you, and thankful for
how you continue to lift ALERT up. Please let me know if there are ways that we
can be praying for you. Stand Strong!

| Construction
Must be willing to relocate to northern Wisconsin. We are looking to hire people to work in our company, and
are willing to train for any of the positions. I’m looking to hire:
- 2-4 men for carpentry.
- 1 spray foam tech
- 1-2 dump truck drivers or equipment operators
- 1 operations/project management
We have free dental, vision, paid vacation, retirement
programs and can pay between $36,000- $66,000.00 per year depending on a
person's ability and willingness to work. We are a Christian company and right
now about 60% of the people that work for us are believers. Must have a drivers license. If interested,

Landscaping/Roofing/Bird Removal
Must be able to relocate to the Grand Junction, Colorado area. Typically full
time, landscaping, tree work, roofing, and traveling around the state on an on
call basis to capture and remove birds from big box stores. Must have a drivers
license. Starting Pay is $16-$20 an hour +overtime, depending on experience,
with opportunity for advancement. Contact Boone by phone or text, 970-270-8007
Bird Removal
In the Iowa or Eastern Nebraska area. Must have reliable transportation, good
gas mileage is better. Job entails traveling in about a 5 hour radius,
depending on where you live, to cover the state of Iowa and eastern Nebraska.
Job entails traveling to big box stores on an on call basis to remove birds
that have entered the store. Pays per job, with an annual income for this
region of about $60,000-$65,000. This number could go up this year due to
changing store policies. There are times it’s full time, but other times there
is some decent down time, so it’s a great mostly part time job, or additional
money to add to an existing small business you own. Preferably a long term
commitment, as it takes a little bit of paid training. This will be a 1099
subcontractor agreement. Call Ben at 336-520-2203. |
