December 2021
Dear ALERT Alumni,
As we wrap up another year of
"Forging" here at the ALERT Academy, I wanted to reach out and give
you a progress report from this last semester of training.
Basic Training:
Unit 65
successfully completed Basic Training last month with 39 men. Please
be in prayer for these men as they move back into normal life, and specifically
for wisdom on whether or not they should return for future
training.
Battalion:
We had 5 men complete their EMT
Training, 2 men earn their wings as pilots, 20 men in our Cadre Leadership
Training, and 6 men complete their training in the Campus Support Team. Unit 64
Graduates tomorrow with 18 men.
Looking to the past:
ALERT Reunion 2022 is just around
the corner, celebrating 28 years! We would love to see you guys here for a
weekend of reminiscing and refreshment. To sign up, visit our reunion website. You can
also see the list of guys currently signed up to attend the upcoming reunion.
Looking to the future:
As many of you know, we made an
official leadership transition in September from Col. Marv Behr to
myself as the ALERT program director. Over the next few weeks and months we
will be working together as a staff to look forward to the next 3 to 5
years of training, and solidify our vision for that training. Please be in
prayer for us as we plan and strategize. My biggest goal right now is to make
sure we have the right staff, they are in the right positions, and they have
the tools they need to do their jobs well.
Healthy Staff = Healthy Student Body
= Healthy Alumni = Influence the World for Christ.
How you can help:
Please
pray for wisdom for myself and the staff as we navigate the leadership
transition and plan out the next 3-5 years of training. There are a lot of
decisions and challenges ahead, and we need God’s help to make the most of the
opportunities we’ve been given.
We would love to be able to put more
men through our training with an overall target of 125 a year. Alumni have
always been our best recruiters, so please continue to spread the word about
ALERT. We know that there is a demographic of men who do not attend
because of finances. If you are so led, feel free to donate to our
scholarship fund to help other men join the brotherhood. In 2021 we were
able to help put 18 men through training because of scholarship assistance, and we would love to be able to increase that number next year.
Please keep us in your prayers, and
let us know how we can be in prayer for you guys. If you are in the area,
please stop by and say hello; we always enjoy seeing alumni and getting a
chance to catch up in person. May God bless you as we move into this holiday season,
and have a Merry Christmas.
Stand Strong!
