Subject: ALERT Alumni Update | April 2022

Hello Alumni,

We have already finished five weeks of the spring quarter here at ALERT, and Basic Training Unit 66 is starting into their fourth week. Basic Training is back to 9 weeks long, so they are about a week out from the halfway point. Please keep praying for them as they go through Basic; they still have Survival Week and the Endurance Hike in front of them.

One thing that I’ve wanted to do since stepping into the role of Commanding Officer of ALERT is record a video introducing myself, putting a face to my name for those of you who I don’t know, and giving you a look at where the program is today. I want to give you the ALERT staff’s perspective on our history, and share with you where we are trying to go as we move forward. If you were here at the Reunion in January, you got a rough draft version of my thoughts in my Saturday talk and in our 2021 Year in Review booklet. As we move forward, here is my perspective on ALERT. You can access the video on YouTube below, or at this link.
If you have any questions or comments about anything I said or didn’t say, please feel free to reply to this email. We want to build and maintain relationships with our alumni and are always happy to hear from guys who have thoughts about their time in ALERT or where the program is headed. Also, if you have any other questions you'd like to see answered publicly or any topic you'd like my thoughts on, feel free to reply to this email with those questions and I'll try to accommodate. Thank you for all your support and prayers through the years!

There are two upcoming events that I want to make sure you are aware of. First of all, the ALERT Sergeants Club is hosting an alumni get together on Wednesday evening during the Family Conference here on campus next week. If you are attending the conference, make sure to listen to announcements for the time that party. Second, Unit 66's Endurance Hike is coming up the first week of May, and there are a limited number of slots open for alumni guys to come hike with us. If you are interested in hiking, please reach out to Lt. Winkler (swinkler@alertacademy.com) for more details and to see if there is space.

One final note, we received another job posting, which I added below my signature.

Stand Strong!
