October 8, 2020 Hello again to our Alumni. Just some quick updates for all of you to consider:
First, this is turning out to be a record Hurricane season for the US. There is a tremendous amount of work out there and those communities need your help! I’d urge you to contact Samaritan’s Purse to see where you might be of assistance. You can apply to volunteer at samaritanspurse.org/our-ministry/nam . They have a number of locations across Louisiana and Alabama that could use some good ol’ ALERT “ready to serve” help. We recently sent a team to Iowa but our numbers are small this fall due to a cancelled Basic in the spring and are looking to our reserves to fill the gap. SP will provide housing, great meals and work which makes it a sweet, slam dunk opportunity. Be aware that Samaritan’s Purse is requiring all overnight volunteers to bring a negative COVID test.
Secondly, we have firmed up the dates for two Conquer Series Weekend Retreats. The Conquer Series is a ten part video series that deals with the addictive nature of pornography and how to begin steps to freedom. If this is an ongoing battlefield for you or you’re looking for a resource to help your son or others I’d urge you to attend. We have two locations planned. Let me know if you’d like to be kept informed on either of these. There is no obligation. Cost is very affordable. Please note: the Waynesburg retreat is already about ⅔ full so you may want to consider registering soon.

Finally we continue to get regular requests from companies wanting to hire ALERT guys. Here are two more:
- Del Norte Ambulance in Del Norte County, California is looking for Paramedics. (I don’t know if they also need EMT’s.) If interested let me know and I’ll send you contact info out there.
- Tradesmen Drywall, Harrisburg, PA is looking for guys interested in learning the sheetrock trade. They also have a construction division. For ALERT guys you will likely qualify for free housing as part of the deal which makes this a unique opportunity. They are looking for a two year commitment with a few other perks thrown in as well! Call me for more details.

On a personal note if anyone resides in the Wisconsin area or doesn’t mind driving, I am looking for two to three guys to help with a roof on our cottage located in Green Lake Wisconsin. Housing and food included. I’m hoping to avoid paying market rates for labor but not looking for a freebie either so there would be compensation. Call me for more details if you might be interested.
