Subject: Pull the trigger 😇

Scribbling on my notebook helps me relax and release my mental energies. Morgan's Paradise, Isla Holbox, Mexico.

I just finished reading Raffaele Gaito's new book on the art of patience. Full of curious and interesting anecdotes, stories and examples, of how experimentation, failures, goals and habits are the key elements to water one's patience.

🔘 Do

“Stop thinking, start doing.

Yes, research is important. But don't waste your whole life "tidying up the pieces."

At some point, better sooner than later, you have to pull the trigger.

Doing, and the result of what you will do, can teach you much more than just thinking endlessly about what to do. "

1) Mainstream news.
All genres. Radio, TV, newspapers. These media are not what they appear to be. They confuse, misinform and brainwash without you noticing.

2) Social media.
Reduce their use to the minimum level. Aggressively eliminate those you follow and keep only those who deeply inspire you.

3) Negative people.
Gossips. People who always blame others or things for their problems. Ball breaker. Non-curious people, fatalists, system soldiers, mainstream people. Conformists. Influencer.

The more dust you breathe, the less oxygen there is in your lungs. Don't listen to me. Question, read, seek your truth.

🔘 Train

How you think is strongly influenced by how and what you read. Think about it.

“Babies are born with a natural ability to learn how to walk and how to talk, it's in their DNA. The same cannot be said for written language ...

From an evolutionary point of view, being able to understand written words is a very recent ability and therefore it is not written in our genetic code how to take it.

In fact, developing the nerve circuits that make us good readers takes a lot of work.

Ask any first-grade student and reading something thoroughly for a long time is not like riding a bicycle, it is not like you learn it once and then you know that thing for the rest of your life, even if you are not on the bike. go longer for a long time.

Keeping your reading-related brain circuits in shape requires training. Because if you don't train, you lose this ability to be able to read what is not simply superficial, fleeting, ephemeral. It works exactly like a muscle.

In other words, avoid long, in-depth reading in favor of easy reading, short articles, or what we find on social media reprogram your brain. And not in a positive way. "
