Subject: It's all about fire (= niche) and quality (beyond writing) :: MC Newsletter

🔘 Infinite Niches

Amazing for me to realize, but after 20 years of publishing content on the internet, I have to admit that this topic is still as interesting today as it was when I started. To be a successful online author or brand, there are only two characteristics to be given top priority in developing your content strategy: the breadth of your focus and the depth of your analysis.

“... what are the elements that significantly determine the traffic arriving on destination sites for those looking for something online?

The two obvious ideal candidates are: fire and quality.

What is important to note is that while quality is relatively binary (either there is or there isn't), focus, i.e. the number of ways one can focus on something - and hence the number of available niches. - it is in effect infinite; success, in other words, is providing more value in your niche - this greater value is determined by how specific your niche is. 🔘 History is the essence, not the collection

Collecting and sharing seemingly useful and interesting things, one pearl at a time, is one thing. It is quite another thing to connect more pearls, which come from different explorers and places, in a wonderful necklace. This is what the curator does.

“Museum curators organize collections of objects based on themes and tell stories. Online curators create stories by collecting items or ideas they have a passion for. In both cases, the goal of curation is always to take single elements and examples and put them together in a single narrative.

In other words, curation adds meaning to individual objects and resources "

🔘 Healing to Increase Credibility

For those who are interested in increasing their authority and credibility, and want to be recognized as reference points in their market niche, an editorial strategy that makes a lot of sense to adopt is to curate content rather than create it from scratch. The time, sensitivity and attention required to put together quality content generated using multiple sources, tools, ideas, and making them converge on a specific topic is what makes an author more credible.

In this way, in fact, the author is no longer a single point of view. The author becomes a lens that shows and describes an entire panorama.

"Content curation not only relieves the pressure of having to spend valuable time creating new content, but adds credibility and further value to your content by using the ideas, thoughts and resources of other experts in your industry"
