How to Cultivate Relationships
Map the Territory If you want to nurture relationships, don't sit around waiting. Go to the places where your potential customers are.
What are these places?
- Search for Facebook groups
that relate to the topic you are an expert on and related ones. When you've found them… join.
- Search Google for lists of influencers
and experts in your niche: E.g .: "design influencer" "curating experts"
- Research your topic on Twitterand then at the top of the results click on "People".
- Search on Google for communities: "marketing community", "real estate community", etc.
- Search Google for events: "design events 2022", "pharmaceutical conferences 2022", etc.
- Search Listen Notes to find podcasts that talk about your topic
- Use Reddit to try to identify the communities closest to your topic (check the subreddits too, don't stop at the main topics)
- Use the search engine you find on Substack to find people who write newsletters and who cover your areas of expertise
- Use the LinkedIn search engine to find groups in your industry
- Also do a YouTube search, looking at channels that cover your topic
- Search for books on your topic on Amazon and identify relevant authors

Find out about your Tribe's Problems
I have discovered a new tool that is used to find online communities on specific topics. Not only. It allows you to find out what your potential customers' main problems are, what solutions they need, and what content they are even willing to pay for.

Build a Community
79 chapters dedicated to how to build your community. Can they be enough for you? I discovered and downloaded this huge guide dedicated to building a community and found it extremely useful.
Lots of good tips, ideas and lessons learned.
Reading it I also discovered a new interesting platform to grow communities: Scenes. (It seems ideal for those who already monetize their tribes and want to offer a good platform and services to their members. It starts at $ 99 / mo.)
