Dear Friend of AFC,
Christmas Greetings from the AFC headquarter! May God bless you and your family with joy, peace and strength during this special season of the year.
When I was in HK for a Mainland China focused mission conference in September, a young lady greeted me by name at the reception desk. I then recognized her as one of our “Next Steppers” following CMC 2011 in UK. She came to the CMC then as a student and responded the “anytime, anywhere, anything for God” challenge. Since then, she has finished a 2-year online mentoring program with our “Next Step” team and was relocated to Shanghai for work. I was happily surprised to see her at the mission gathering, knowing that she is part of a thriving house church actively pursuing missions. In fact, she is one of the many volunteers organizing that conference. This sister’s story is not atypical in our campus ministries across the US, UK and East Asia.
Dear friend, The Lord is working mightily among this generation. I want to invite you to join us in celebrating another fruitful year in the gospel ministry among Chinese students and scholars. Below are a few highlights from 2015:
Our 111 campus staff and associates have finished another year of reaching and mentoring students in over 80 campuses in the US, UK and East Asia, including new locations at strategic schools.
Chinese Christian Faculty Network: AFC partnered with a group of senior Christian faculty members to strategically train the junior academics in personal growth, academic advancement and kingdom building. Several gospel camps that specifically target professors and visiting scholars will take place in 2016.
Trainings: Our trainers visited major college towns to conduct campus intelligence trainings that empower local believers to engage the new generation of students.
Literature Ministry: AFC bookstore, Chinese Resource Ministry, Publishing and Ambassador Magazine distributed more than 300,000 items this year to over 30 countries. With intentional fundraising, we are able to supply critically needed ministry materials at incredibly low prices.
The Houston area churches are partnering with AFC to offer the 1st CMC in Houston, TX (Dec 29,15-Jan 02,16). We are excited about the theme "Together Unleashed for God's Global Glory" (Eph 3:14-21). Over 2200 people have already registered with our original target of only 1500 attendees.
Earlier this year, we also held the 3rd CMC in UK (Derbyshire, Aug 19-22), and 1st CMC in Italy (Rome, Aug 26-29). AFC considers Europe as our mission field to strategically distribute human and financial resources.
AFC has been privileged to be part of God’s transformation work. Yet, the fast growth of our ministries also brings unprecedented challenges on AFC human and financial resources. Up to this year, we have a deficit of $148,560. Some campus staff are still lacking adequate support in order to fully focus on the mission field.
