Even if you are not an investor and have none of the above, you likely have 'dead assets' that are not producing for you and can be liquidated for cash which can be put to better use like an old boat sitting in the back yard or marina dry dock, a second car you really don't need, the moldy cabin you only visit once or twice a year, grandpa's gold watch from his railroad retirement, etc. You get the idea.
