Hey Friend
This is very Important. Please Take Notice!
Hackers are sending 'Spoof' emails to my contacts appearing as though they are from me.
The Spoof email has every appearance as being from 'info@mmg.world' - Monaco Management. They are giving instructions on how or where to send money for 'x' program, whatever it may be.
If you get an email that appears to be from me giving instructions on sending money, wire transfers, crypto, whatever, whether it's from info@mmg.world or any other, ignore it unless or until you've verified it live with the sender.
As a general rule you should never send funds to anyone just based on an email without verifying complete details direct with the beneficiary. A zoom call or phone call with direct communication are best methods.
Another tip-off to a hacker is that you might get an email appearing to be from one of your contacts or service providers and the 'from' email is very similar to what you know, but is 'off' by one character. Don't be lazy. Check every detail.
Another ploy being used is to send you a receipt or invoice for a large purchase you supposedly just made. They shock you because you know you didn't make that purchase for $600 and you want to see what's going on. They want you to open the attachment which likely could plant malware on your computer. These are sent by hacks and are easily identifiable because the return email address is 'gmail' or something definitely not from a branded company with its own domain.
Be diligent and check every detail or you may be the next victim.
What is email spoofing? Email spoofing is the process of sending emails with a forged sender address. It deceives the recipient into believing that the email is sent by someone they know or trust. It's usually a phishing tool designed to take over your online accounts, send malware, or steal money.
