The predators of this world are becoming all the more brash, aggressive and just downright openly evil. Case in point:
Bob and Sherrie DuVal in Longmont Colorado were running a very successful small package delivery business in Denver. Small packages under 50 pounds required a certain premium to pay the state for workman’s compensation. One day a state agent walks in wanting to do an inspection. To make a long story short, without any basis or evidence for his decision, the agent decides that Bob’s business ‘could’ handle larger packages even though it wasn’t and he decided that Bob should be paying much higher workman’s comp premium for the larger packages they weren’t handling but ‘could’.
But that wasn’t the worst news. The rogue minion of mayhem from the state unilaterally decided that this premium should be assessed retroactively for the entire previous 3 years of operation that Bob’s business had since he started. This created a huge liability to the state mafia.
Now that's what I call a pretty brutal but effective 'shakedown' from the mafia's perspective!
Bob and Sherrie had just built their dream home and had big dreams with the success of their business. That all came crashing down. Bob enlisted our help in saving his home which we did and he just said ‘to hell with it’. He told the state to shove it, closed up shop and moved out of state and left the empty company shell for the state to try and collect.
This is typical of how the state can ruin your life in a heartbeat and you never see it coming.
Case #2:
Jim Baird operated a successful used car business in rural Oklahoma. It wasn’t at all unusual for rural folk to come in and pay for a used car in cash. Periodically, he’d make a run to the bank to make some good sized cash deposits. He was on his way to the bank one day and got pulled over on the highway by a state trooper going in to town. Being the unsuspecting, easy going guy that he was (not knowing how to protect himself and his rights or property) the trooper asked him to step out of the car. Jim said ‘fine’. The trooper asked to search the car. Jim said ‘fine’. The trooper found a box with nearly $40,000 cash in it and immediately seized it under asset forfeiture laws. You know your cash is guilty until proven innocent right? Not only that, but the trooper had a scanner. He asked Bill to take out his wallet for inspection. The trooper scanned the wallet and Jim later found out that his debit and credit cards were all debited to the max!
Under current laws, this blatant, pure, highway robbery is legal! But it only happened because Jim thought like most people do, ‘I have nothing to hide. I’m not doing anything wrong. The government wouldn’t do this to me!’.
But they did. And they do, day in and day out again, and again and again and again, because 'they can' and people basically are too naive and unprepared to do anything about it.
We could go on with endless stories. Can we talk about the IRS? Don't even get me started!
The point is this (name) You have a choice.
