An Appeal to Animal Lovers!

Hi Friend,

Just a couple of days ago I dragged Sandy off a 4 lane highway on my way back from town.  She was lifeless and surely resigned to die.  I approached her and she paid no attention to me and didn't respond to food or water I offered her either.  The bottom line, she had two severely fractured legs and couldn't walk and was lying helpless on the side of the highway.  I scooped her up and put her in my car and took her to the vet where she was x-rayed, evaluated, and 3 days later transported to the city where she is undergoing a complicated surgery.  One leg on one day and another leg the next day.  It's too much anesthesia to do both at once.

It will be a long recovery process and being a street dog, she'll need vaccinations, neutering, parasite cleanse, medicated baths, some lengthy hospital stay, medicines, supplies, food, and vet fees.   Then if we can get through all that, we try to find her a home if I can stand to give her away and not keep her myself.

If you'd like to help me give her a good life, every little bit helps. Anything above the goal of $2500 for Sandy will go to the refuge we built in Venezuela where we care for 40 dogs (at current count) and many more on the street that we can't take in.

Every little bit is a token of love which so many of these wonderful creatures don't get. Thanks so much for giving it your consideration.
