Throughout the years, we've screened films that follow a filmmaker on a journey to uncover the personal and professional lives of a parent who is also an architect. This theme surfaced in past years with films like My Father, the Genius (Lucia Small, 2002), Rem (Tomas Koolhaas, 2016), Eero Saarinen: The Architect Who Saw the Future (Eric Saarinen and Peter Rosen, 2016), and Designing Life: The Modernist Architecture of Albert C. Ledner (Catherine Ledner, 2017).
This year, we are thrilled to present three films by the children of architect parents. Along similar lines, we are excited to screen Life, Assembled, directed by architect/filmmaker Elodie Degavre, who was inspired to pursue architecture as she observed her neighbor design her childhood home. We hope you'll join us as we dig into these stories that highlight fascinating intersections between architecture and family. |
