Ada – My Mother the Architect

2024 / 82 min / Israel, US

Canada Premiere

Oct 26, 3:15 PM

Ada – My Mother the Architect is a deeply moving portrait of an extraordinary woman directed by her daughter, filmmaker and former architect Yael Melamede. Ada is a true pioneer who, like many successful working mothers of her time, was forced to make impossible choices. Despite personal sacrifices, Ada's work gave physical form to some of her home country's highest ideals.

E.1027 – Eileen Gray and the House by the Sea

2024 / 90 min / Switzerland

Canada Premiere

Oct 26, 1:00 PM

She built a house for herself. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a masterpiece. Eileen Gray built a refuge on the Côte d‘Azur in 1929. Her first house is a discrete, avant-garde masterpiece. This is a story about the power of Gray's creative expression and one man's desire to control it.
