ADFF:NY tickets are selling fast! We're busy adding more speakers to the festival, so stay tuned. This week, we're highlighting four incredible films.

E.1027 –Eileen Gray and the House by the Sea (US Premiere)

This beautiful film is part theater, part docu-drama, and 100% amazing. Irish designer Eileen Gray built a refuge as her first house. This discrete, avant-garde masterpiece is named E.1027, a cryptic marriage of her initials and those of Jean Badovici, with whom she built it. Le Corbusier, upon discovering the house, became intrigued and obsessed. This story is about the power of one woman's artistic expression and a man's desire to control it.

The director Beatrice Minger will be present for a Q&A after each screening.

This is the first feature film on R.M. Schindler, whose philosophy of Space Architecture contrasted with the International Style.

The film reexamines Schindler’s complicated relationship with his mentor Frank Lloyd Wright and his rival Richard Neutra. The film affirms the singular genius of one man, and the eternal challenge every artist faces to stay true to their vision and leave a lasting impact.

The film is narrated by Meryl Streep. The director Valentina Ganeva will be present for a Q&A after each screening.

Green Over Gray: Emilio Ambasz (US Premiere)

Muse Factory Films brings us another fantastic documentary, this time about Emilio Ambasz, a pioneer in the debate on climate impact. Ambasz is especially important in New York as he was the curator of design at MoMA from 1969-1976.

Green Over Gray explores the green architecture revolution through Ambasz's seminal projects. This film illustrates how, for forty years, Ambasz has redefined the relationship between humans and their environment, foreseeing a vision of nature as the fulcrum of a historic change.

The director Francesca Molteni and architect Steven Holl will have an on-stage conversation following the September 26 screening.
