Following the inscription of Mongolian Traditional Art of Khöömii on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010, ethnomusicologist Johanni Curtet and specialist of intangible cultural heritage Nomindari Shagdarsuren have worked since 2011 to create a reference documentation on the Mongolian khöömii tradition, which resulted in this record.
Through 43 tracks, including 28 previously unreleased, this double disc gathers the essentials of Mongolian khöömii, from early sound archives to the present day, showing the history and evolution of the art over sixty years (1954- 2016) and three generations.
Speakers Johanni Curtet and Nomindari Shagdarsuren will present this work for the CD launch in Mongolia.

| | | | About the Presenters: Johanni Curtet & Nomindari Shagdarsuren | | Johanni is PhD in musicology, he is an ethnomusicologist specialized in khöömii, Mongolian overtone singing. Affiliated to the Research Unity 1279, History and Critics of Arts at the University of Rennes 2, he is a member of the French Society for Ethnomusicology.
Since 2006, he is the artistic director of the Routes Nomades Association, through which he has organized more than 100 concerts of khöömii in Europe and has produced 3 records. His research on khöömii focuses on the origin, history, spectacularization, heritagization and transmission of this vocal technique in Mongolia. In 2009, by the request of the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO, he participated in the elaboration of the nomination dossier of the Mongolian Traditional art of Khöömii in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Nomindari is Holder of Master’s degree in Mediation of cultural heritage at the University of Rennes 2, she is specialized in the sector of the intangible cultural heritage (ICH). She has worked for national and international cultural engineering organizations in Mongolia (Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO, Foundation for the Protection of Natural and Cultural Heritage), France (French Centre of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Association France ICH) and South Korea (ICHCAP-International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific region under the auspices of UNESCO).
