Dear Friend of the ACMS,
Your support has been crucial in helping to build greater understanding of Mongolia and friendships and exchange between scholars in North America and Mongolia.
Over this past year examples of your support have included fellowships for students and faculty members conducting field research and intensive Mongolian language studies, presentation of new scholarship through the Speaker Series and ACMS publications, development of Mongolian libraries through the Books for Mongolia program and training workshops, documentation of Mongolia’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage through the Cultural Heritage Program (CHP), and education for Americans about Mongolian history and culture through the Summer Institute on Modern Mongolia at the University of Pennsylvania.
Please consider making a year-end donation to support furthering new programs that will build greater understanding of Mongolia, and help us support emerging scholars like William Taylor.

Donor Profile
William Taylor, a PhD Candidate in Archeology at the University of New Mexico, has been conducting archaeological research on ancient horse use in Mongolia since 2011 (see his September Mongolia Field Note for more information about his work). William was twice supported by ACMS fellowships and has been a frequent visitor to the ACMS office and library in Ulaanbaatar, utilizing the Research Library collection of more than 5000 books as well as utilizing logistical support including housing, transportation and networking assistance.
In recognition of the help he has received from the ACMS, and in honor of his uncle, in 2016 William Taylor created the Bruce William Morrison Research Laboratory at the ACMS library in Ulaanbaatar. He donated over $10,000 worth of 3D imaging and printing equipment that is now available to visiting international and Mongolian scholars to assist in their research and training.
He has also highlighted several additional pieces of scanning equipment and training resources that could further support the development of the Research Laboratory and efforts to learn more about this archeological and cultural history of Mongolia. Please consider making a donation to support the work of emerging scholars like William Taylor.
