Part 1 of the Integrative Nurse Coach Certificate Program

We are thrilled that you are joining us on this transformational journey into Nurse Coaching! We look forward to working with each of you as we weave the rich tapestry of integral, holistic, integrative nurse coaching and healing together. Our Integrative Nurse Coach Certificate Program (INCCP) focuses on the 5 Core Values woven throughout the course:

Integrative Nurse Coach Certificate Program

Part 1: Integrative Nurse Coach Foundations

Overview

  • Contact Hours: Integrative Nurse Coach (INC) Foundations awards 36 contact hours over a 12 week timeframe. You must complete the evaluation at the completion of the programs to receive your certificate.


  • Cohort and Dates: You are a member of Cohort 35. INC Foundations begins June 28th, 2021 and concludes September 19th, 2021. If you signed up for part 2: INC Practicum, this will begin immediately following Foundations.


  • Weekly Content: Each of the 12 weeks of Foundations will consist of viewing recorded video lectures, completing assigned textbook and article readings, participating in discussion groups online that can be completed anytime during that week, and completing a multiple-choice quiz.

    • You will also be paired with a Nurse in the program (based on your timezone) for peer coaching practice sessions to be completed live, online. You and your peer coach will set the dates and times that you meet based on each other's availability. Additional details / instructions will be available Week 1.


  • Supervision Meetings: Every other week, starting week 2, there will be a required live online session (1.5 hours) with your assigned small group and Clinical Faculty member.

    • SELECT YOUR MEETING TIME:  There will be 5 groups in Cohort 35. Click here to select the smalll group date/time that works for you. Groups are expected to fill up quickly and selection is first come, first serve, so be sure to do this as soon as possible!


  • Part 2: Practicum: If you registered for the entire Integrative Nurse Coach Certificate Program (INCCP), you will receive information specific to Part 2: Integrative Nurse Coach Practicum a few weeks before the end of Foundations. The transition from Foundations is seamless, and you will continue with your Foundations supervisor in Practicum.

Program Requirements

  • If you are planning to sit for board certification in Nurse Coaching and/or Holistic Nursing, you must complete Integrative Nurse Coach Foundations (Part 1) AND Integrative Nurse Coach Practicum (Part 2). Read more about certification here.

  • You must participate in all supervision meetings, peer coaching sessions, and quiz questions to get your contact hour certificate and continue on to Practicum.

Pre-course Assignments
To familiarize yourself with Integrative Nurse Coaching, please complete the following before the program begins.

  1. Review Chapter 12, Awareness Practices, in the Nurse Coaching: Integrative Approaches for Health and Wellbeing textbook.  

    1. View this Awareness Practice to get started. There will be a different awareness practice at the beginning of each weekly module during the program.


  2. Read one case study from Chapter 13 of Nurse Coaching: Integrative Approaches for Health and Wellbeing and be prepared to discuss (via writing a forum post) in the group discussion forum during week #1. 

    1. Did you notice any ah-ha moments that you can translate into your own nursing practice?


  3. Read the article Nurse Coaching through a Nursing Lens: The Theory of Integrative Nurse Coaching. This will give you a good idea of the role of the Nurse Coach and the Theory of Integrative Nurse Coaching that guides our practice.
