BREAKING NEWS

On a mission trip to Cuba in March 2020, I met a wonderful language student named Leonardo. As I preached the gospel and helped with medical clinics, Leonardo worked as my translator.

The COVID-19 pandemic cut our trip short because the United States requested and Cuba demanded that visiting Americans depart. Click here to read about our trip, which was featured in Adventist World magazine.

Leonardo translated for me as I spoke to a church filled with people. A few even stood in the window to hear the message. I told them, "If it's in the Bible, it's for me. If it's not in the Bible, it's not for me."

I have never forgotten Leonardo. He's now graduated and is working. Yet, his monthly salary is about $60 US. He needs and has asked for help to obtain an electric bike.

"On that bike my father and I could more easily visit the different places where we give Bible studies and preach," he told me. "Besides, not using public transportation is better for avoiding COVID-19 risks."

Would you assist me in helping Leonardo and his family? The goal is to raise $1,500 US for the bike and other related expenses by April 28. You can do so by clicking the link below and making a note that your donation is for an electric bike.

See how God moved on my mission trip to Cuba in March 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic cut our trip short, but we had enough time to share Jesus! Watch as I talk to attorney John Washington about this amazing event.

A NEW PARTNERSHIP

GRM2 has partnered with Refuge House, Tallahassee, Fla., “to provide direct services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and to their children and families, as well as to eliminate such violence through community education and public advocacy.” Your tax-deductible donations can help purchase natural hair products and bus passes for the women and children helped by Refuge House. Please make a note that your donation is for "Refuge House."

FINANCIAL PARTNER

In February, GRM2 partnered with Sisters Anointed to Lead Together (SALT), which creates a pathway for girls ages 12 to 18 to become future leaders. The nonprofit organization hosted its 2022 "L.E.A.D. Retreat" in Orlando, March 11-15. L.E.A.D stands for Leadership, Empowerment, Advocacy, and Discipline. The Retreat offered a series of "firsts" to the girls — their first flight

(from Pensacola to Orlando), their first professional basketball game to see the Orlando Magic, and luxury living (private chef, private swimming pool and jacuzzi, and private transportation).  More importantly, the girls participated in daily empowerment workshops designed to help them lead with excellence and integrity.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT

Everyone Participates in the Great Cosmic Trial (Part 3)

We began examining the prophetic book of Revelation as “The Trial of the Universe” in November. The case is about the two issues: a) the consequences of each person’s choice of allegiance to either Jesus or Satan, and b) whether Satan’s accusations about God’s character and His law are true. (Revelation 22:11, 12 and 11:16-19).

In the January issue, we focused on the defendant since a trial determines whether a defendant’s alleged behavior violated the law. Each of us is a defendant in the heavenly courtroom experience (Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14). Each of us will be judged by God’s immutable law as given in the Ten Commandments and summarized by Moses and Jesus (Malachi 3:6; Matthew 5:18; Deuteronomy 10:12;  Matthew 22:37.)  Because God’s law existed in heaven before the creation of Earth and Adam, when Lucifer knowingly rejected obedience to God’s law, he was expelled from heaven (Revelation 12:13-10; Ezekiel 28:12-17). Adam and Eve also chose to disobey God’s prohibition about eating fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and they were expelled from the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3).

Now, we look at the prosecuting attorney, who is none other than Satan himself. Who better to be the “accuser of the brethren” since he is behind every wrong, evil, and disobedient thought, feeling, and action we experience (Revelation 12:10; 1 Peter 5:8)? Satan chose to challenge God’s authority in heaven; there was war and Satan lost. Now He wants us to experience the same eternal separation from God (John 8:44; Revelation 12).

Satan can’t receive God’s amazing grace nor experience forgiveness of his sins, but we can (1 John 1:9)! That is why Satan does everything in his power to distract and to block our choosing to accept the gift of salvation (Romans 6:23).

But we have an Advocate, the most successful Defense Attorney, Who has never lost a case against Satan!

We will continue our discussion in the next issue, but if you want search for Bible answers now, please email JudithHawkins@GRM2.net.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Join me each Monday evening for worship, study and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Guyana.

Have you been challenged in our journey to understanding about biblical submission, forgiveness and compromise? The purpose of these seminars is to provoke thought, prayer, and meditation on specific issues faced by women with the objective of improving our relationship with God, first, and then our personal relationships. New episodes will be released each month.

  1. Physical well-being: “Adequate rest is more than putting our bodies in bed—it is also allowing the brain’s right and left sides to cease from thinking and feeling. Otherwise, we are simply awake with our eyes closed.” Judith Warren Hawkins

  2. Relational well-being: “Our horizontal relationships reflect our vertical ascent.” JWH

  3. Emotional well-being: “Forgiveness is the key to our freedom and healing, but putting the key in the lock is the challenge.”  JWH

  4. Mental well-being: “We believe in [rely on] so many things we can’t explain, but when we label it faith, then belief becomes a problem.” JWH

UPDATES

How much of who you are are you compromising for the relationship? Are there deal-breakers? What do you do when you recognize you've compromised more than you are comfortable with? Journey with us as attorney Neibra Williams and I discuss this topic.
