Volume 2 No. 1 | January 2022

Welcome to 2022!

Let’s embrace these new days with joy and thanksgiving, grateful for opportunities to continue building on the foundations laid in years past.

Everyone has a “house of life” and during this year it will experience something —remodeling, updating, rehabbing, demolishing, sprucing up, maintaining, repairing, even relocating.

But "Whate’er betide," chose to trust the Master Builder’s good plans for your “house of life” (Jeremiah 29:11).

He knows your journey to understanding.

Amen.

Watch Judith Hawkins as she shares her testimony with Pastor Derek Morris on the Hope Channel program "Transformed Hope." In an episode called, "Where God Wants Me to Be," Hawkins says God showed her that losing the people and things closest to her put her exactly where He wanted her to be.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT

Everyone Is a Party in the Cosmic Trial (Part 2)

In our November 2021 issue, we began examining the prophetic book of Revelation as “The Trial of the Universe.” The case is about these two issues: a) the consequences of each person’s choice of allegiance to either Jesus or Satan and b) whether Satan’s accusations about God’s character and His law are true. (Revelation 22:11, 12 and 11:16-19).

Now we focus on the defendants—who happen to be each one of us.

A trial determines whether a defendant’s alleged behavior violated a government-imposed law.

Many people, including Christians, believe that everyone will inherit eternal life and live happily ever after in heaven. But this is not so, according to Jesus’ statements in Matthew 7:13, 20, 21.

Why? Because “God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14).

Twice God wrote, with His own finger on tablets of stone, His law, the Ten Commandments (Exodus 24:12; 31:18; 32:19; and Exodus 34:1, 4, 29). The Ten Commandments are distinguished from the ceremonial laws that were abolished after Christ’s death on the cross (Matthew 27:51).

Neither God nor His law changes. Lucifer knew and rejected God’s law and he was expelled from heaven (Revelation 12:13-10; Ezekiel 28:12-17). Since God’s law existed before the creation of Earth and Adam, he was expelled from the Garden of Eden because of his disobedience (Malachi 3:6; Matthew 5:18; Isaiah 40:28).

UPCOMING EVENTS

In our January journey to understanding about Biblical submission, we learn that we must first get our vertical relationships with God aligned before we can even think to get our horizontal relationships with our husbands adjusted. There must be less "I" and more "we." New episodes will be released each month.

In February, we'll talk about forgiveness.

Judith Hawkins will be presenting at the SHE Empowerment Conference in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Registration details to attend in person or virtually will be on the Bridge Every Gap website soon.

  1. Physical Well-being: Adequate rest, sufficient sunlight, ample exercise, use of water both inside and outside the body, breathing pure air, following a healthy diet, developing temperance, and trusting God improves quality of life and health!

  2. Relational Well-being: Check the “best by” date for troublesome people in your space— that date has probably passed.

  3. Emotional Well-being: Remind yourself that everything changes, including today’s difficulties; just look forward to tomorrow!

  4. Mental Well-being: Successful dreams awoke and went a workin’.
