Onderwerp: [EDITH] Past and upcoming ecosystem meetings, new use cases and the book "Towards Good Simulation Practice"

Dear VHP enthusiasts,

it was great meeting many of you in Paris. An extensive meeting report has been drafted for those that were not able to attend. We are working very hard to release the first proof of concept version of the repository. We are still welcoming your use cases and resources to include them in the EDITH repository. The invitation for the final ecosystem meeting will be sent soon. Save the date to join us in Amsterdam on 15 and 16 of July 2024!

Best wishes,

Prof Liesbet Geris, EDITH coordinator

The First ecosystem meeting on building the VHT, a productive two-day event, took place at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, France on January 18-19. Over 175 people registered for the meeting, representing all aspects of the ecosystem: academia, industry, research institutes, hospitals, HPC centres, HTA agencies, legal offices, ethics societies, as well as social sciences, civil and patient organisations.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) claim the lives of 17.9 million people every year, making them the leading cause of death worldwide. This urgency has led to a growing interest in continuous on-site monitoring of specific biomarkers that pave the way for early diagnosis and more effective treatment and follow-up.

The book is the result of an extensive collaboration involving several hundreds of in silico experts, driven by the In Silico World consortium and supported by the Avicenna Alliance, the VPH Institute and several EC projects including EDITH. This book has also been reviewed by the FDA which provided valuable comments and a foreword.

Initially some of EDITH's activities have been based on five preselected use-cases (intensive care, cancer, cardiovascular, osteoporosis, and brain) that are currently being tested in clinical settings.

Now it's your turn! EDITH opens the call for further use-cases and resources: check the link to find out how you can contribute
