You might have seen the news last week regarding Tropical Storm Isaias. Many states along the east coast were hit hard. Here in Connecticut, we took a beating, and are slowly getting back to normal. Over half the state lost power for over 5 days, or so. With over 100,000 people still without power as I write this email this morning.
Back in October 2011 we were hit with a freak snowstorm known as the Halloween nor'easter,that caused half the state to lose power for up to a week. You would have thought after that storm our utility and government would be ready for anything, but they weren't.
I was running a few advisory roundtables for small business owners at the time, and we used this learning opportunity to review emergency preparations for their businesses and family. If you're able to join us tonight, I thought it prudent for us to take a few minutes to share our stories of preparing for emergencies at home and work.
