Subject: Will you be at OYSIBS 2023?

   Newsletter No 62| May 2023

Hello Friend,

Welcome to the month of May!

May is a month that has been tied to various activities around workers and productivity. May 1 every year is Workers' Day. I must thank all the workers of our dear state who came out to celebrate this day in their colourful attires. It was fun taking the salute on that occasion.

Earlier today, I was at the Oyo State Civil/Public Service Productivity Day/Merit Award Ceremony. We have been hosting this event since 2021 to reward our civil and public servants. As we continue to build a more viable civil service in the state, this award will remain a feature for the next four years. it might be a good idea to add a private sector element to the ceremony. Tell me what you think.

Also, this is a month of political significance to Nigerians. On May 29, 1999, the Fourth Republic began, and it has birthed Nigeria's longest streak of civilian rule. This year will mark 24 years since that date which translates to six different Nigerian democratic tenures. The seventh will begin on May 29, 2023. And by God's grace, I will again be sworn in as the Governor of Oyo State, and officially, Omituntun 2.0 will begin.

While we wait for the inauguration, we are not resting on our oars as we prepare for the next four years. About a month ago, I told you about the Oyo State International Business Summit (OYSIBS 2023). I had a few people write in to ask if the event is still holding. Well, I am happy to inform you that plans are in top gear to ensure a successful event. The date remains May 19, 2023, and it will be held at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, London Kensington.

You should be there to listen as I deliver the Keynote Address titled, "Your All Access Card to Sustainable Investments in Oyo State - Follow the Data." There will also be a symposium, thematic sessions, panel discussions, and talks focused on investments and sustainable development in Oyo State. If you have not registered to attend this event, here is the link.

It's just 14 days to the event, and we have so much to share about our plans, so visit my official website to get updates on the availability of the brochure and other informational materials that promote investments in Oyo State. As I said during my May Day speech, we plan to be bullish about getting investments into the state and further reducing the unemployment rate within the state. We are fully committed to making Oyo State the gateway to sustainable investments in Nigeria.

Talk to you again soon.
