Subject: My 2025 Plans

   THE BUSINESS of GOVERNANCE

   Newsletter No 105 | January 2025

Hello Friend,

Happy New Year!

I thank God for giving us the opportunity to see the year 2025. I hope that for our administration, this will be our best year yet. We will certainly be working towards that from the get-go because making it our best year yet is by design, not happenstance.

Earlier today, I inspected the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport upgrade and the 110 km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road projects. The first segment of the circular road project should be ready by the third quarter of 2025. We will award the interchange and hydraulic structures on the second segment of the circular road within this quarter.

While we will continue to execute various infrastructure projects this year, we will also focus on policies and programmes, including human capital development, that will leave a lasting legacy for our administration. I will outline these in subsequent newsletters. To start, tomorrow, we will appoint over 40 Permanent Secretaries in the civil service of Oyo State.

My 2024 Books

So, what are the things you plan to do differently this year? Are you starting a new project or finishing up one you started last year? Whatever your intentions, you must always start with a plan.

For example, last year, I was only able to share my reading of four books. My plan is to create more time for books and personal development this 2025. I hope you will join me. So, to start the year, I will be reading Wole Soyinka's "Ibadan: The Penkelemes Years—A Memoir, 1945-1967".

January reading: Wole Soyinka's Ibadan: The Penkelemess Years—A Memoir, 1945-1967.

I am looking forward to a great 2025. No matter what obstacles we face this year, I am confident that God Almighty will make a way for us. This was my message to the good people of Oyo State. If you have not had the chance to listen to it, it is linked below.

Talk to you again soon.
