Fighting for the Destiny of a Nation

Dear Friends and Intercessors,
Sunday, as we celebrated Independence Day, our 245th Year of Independence, I found a newfound fight within me to stand for the independence our forefathers fought to achieve. This year, July 4th, marked a shift, as Mom called me that night as her spirit was ignited with that revelation, and I too found myself feeling the shift in the Spirit.
We must never forget the truth of what the men who fought and died in the revolutionary war endured. They trekked through devastating, and life-threatening circumstances to obtain the freedoms we share. Today, I find myself crying out for the modern-day Benjamin Franklins, Thomas Jeffersons and George Washington’s to rise up and take their place.
We are fighting a modern-day Revolutionary War to enforce the precepts written in our Declaration of Independence.
When our Founding Fathers drafted the Declaration of Independence, they set in motion a document that would change the destiny of this nation and give hope to oppressed nations. The British put bounties out on their heads, investing great sums of money to see these enemies vanquished. These bounties fell to their families and even close friends were warned to watch their backs. Yet, to these men, the risks were weighted, knowing if they failed, they and their lineage would be absent of a heritage. They pressed on.
To fight for the destiny of this nation was their destiny. To deny the destiny God places within us is to deny our very purpose for existence.
History may be lost for some, but I believe a shift is taking place in this hour. We have seen dramatic levels of our freedom slip away and now the people are fighting back. Many states are taking legislative action, and this brings me great encouragement!
Still, we must continue to pray for our youth, they have tremendous potential! We cannot overlook this reality. Within the hearts of our young people today, from the highly educated to those lacking a high-school diploma, we see aimless, anxiety-ridden, triggered individuals who deep down inside, are just looking for purpose. They want higher purpose but lack an understanding or direction in how to obtain such a thing. The enemy will not win.
Imagine George Washington for a moment, we often consider him a 75-year-old man, full of the wisdom of life’s experiences, setting pen to paper to help Jefferson, another stately man, write the Declaration of Independence. He was only 44. Jefferson, much his junior, was 33. In fact, most of those who participated in this signing would be considered millennials or younger, today.
So, yes, I see hope for our youth!
Washington, tall and regal in appearance, one would never know looking at him how he suffered in his youth. Yet, it was the lack of misunderstanding by those who knew him that created such a deep anguish within. In that anguish, he sought answers. It was through this season of Washington’s life that God forged him, creating a deep stirring within that would lead him to fight for, and birth, a nation.
In Washington’s search, an angel appeared to him and showed him God’s plan for this nation. George Washington was sealed that day with an unshakable purpose as the scroll of his destiny was unfurled before him.
From this point on, Washington saw beyond what was in front of him and into tomorrow. Most in his era focused on the daily grind, whether it was to harvest the crops, put food on the table, or fight in the war, they focused on survival. Washington did not see life from this perspective, he was a very analytical man who embraced this vision for America wholeheartedly knowing it was not only his destiny, but the destiny of a nation that was at stake. His destiny stitched within him Divine understanding, revelation and faith and he was about to collaborate with a room full of young and old, ages 9-81, and give birth to a nation that represented freedom for all to worship God.
At the signing of the Declaration of Independence, tomorrow became today’s reality! With 34 direct quotes and many more inferences to Scripture, this Declaration was forged in the annals of America’s Heavenly and earthly history. This signing changed the course of history. It would forever allow men to be created equal. It would give men the freedom to choose their leaders, those who reflected their values and would enforce or implement righteous laws for its citizens to follow. This Declaration released shockwaves into the earth, that while among the smallest, and certainly the youngest, God was on the throne here and we would follow Him without apology, resisting tyranny, and standing for righteousness!
Friends, His Spirit traveled the world over to declare this nation, a “Nation Under God” and as such, it was off limits to tyranny. This Declaration thrust the fear of God directly into the hearts of the nations of the earth. Let that sink in for a moment. The Spirit of God, after the last signature was penned, thrust into the hearts of the earth a “knowing” that they could not win in a battle to take us, and their hearts melted within them.
That same Declaration of Independence, signed by young and old, still stands! So yes, there’s hope!
The enemy may be trying to destroy us, but God is raising up an army to fight against him! You my friends, are that army!
Can you see why there’s hope? God will use both young and old to ensure His Destiny for this nation is fulfilled. We only need to engage with the Spirit of God, He is with us my friends and He will go before us as we stand in the gap for our nation!
Consider the birth of Israel, a small nation comparatively speaking, that took the Covenanted, Promised Land because the Spirit of God went before them. They came up against the sons of Anak, who were literal giants, yet it was the Spirit, sending forth the fear of God into the Anakin’s to melt their hearts before the children of Israel ever arrived that enabled them to defeat the giants. (Deut. 9) The mighty warriors under Joshua were empowered by the Spirit to do great feats, but it was the Spirit of God going forth that gave them the victory!
Friends, just as the Lord, when the people of God stayed true, would not allow the enemy to defeat Israel, He will not allow the enemy to destroy this nation. God has a covenant with this nation. We are to be a refuge nation in the end-times. We are to be a Light unto all the earth. We provide hope to weary and broken travelers that freedom still stands. And our presence provides a barrier against tyranny! Above all else, we are a Nation Under God! That strikes fear in the heart of our enemies! We must never forget this truth!
We must not relent as we hold the line for this nation. The enemy may put targets on our backs or bounties on our heads, but those risks pale in comparison to the reward of pressing into the promises of God and seeing the Destiny of this nation fulfilled!
