Purim, Phone Gathering of the Eagles, March 7-10, 2023!
In just two weeks we will hold our Purim Gathering of the Eagles by phone!
We will focus our efforts on the economy. The enemy plans to devastate the nations of the earth by devastating the economy the world over. We will come together to reverse his plans!
Purim is often referred to as the Feast of Reversal. As a celebration of the moment a decree went forth, penetrating 127 provinces, to reverse an edict which would certainly condemn the Jewish citizens within those provinces to death. It is a powerful reminder of how a genocide was prevented because two people were willing to put more than reputation, social status, or wealth on the line, they were willing to lay down their lives to save their people from destruction!
Of course, I am referring to Queen Esther and Mordecai, her cousin. They are descendants from the tribe of Benjamin, which incidentally, is the same tribe King Saul hailed from.
A wise man (Benjamin Franklin) in the fight for his own nation said, “man will ultimately be governed by God or tyrants.” However, one wonders how many are truly aware of this reality and once aware, if they are they willing to stand against the tyranny to set their people free. The intercessor, however, often is not only aware, but they will face the tyrants so his fellow man might have the privilege to be governed by God.
Esther and Mordecai were intercessors at heart, and warriors in the faith! They faced Haman and his 10 sons, each of whom were true tyrants determined to annihilate every Jewish person within Persian Empire. It is true, around 500 years prior, King Saul was called upon by God to judge and eradicated the Amalekites (1 Samuel 15). However, his rebellion to God’s command not only cost him his throne, but it nearly cost the entire nation of Israel their lives under the provocation Agag’s descendant, Haman.
The beauty of this account is the opportunity for both redemption and a profound expansion of the kingdom of God! What the enemy intends for evil, God will use for His glory! (Romans 8:28-29.)
You can read the account in the book of Esther. As you do, picture the events in the supernatural as Mordecai and Esther, of the tribe of Benjamin, were about to go toe to toe with Haman the Agagite. What a mighty battle this must have been in the spirit realm as the forces of evil pressed and pressed for the destruction of God’s chosen people, while the angelic host warred on their behalf! Can you just picture the warfare?! On the ground were not your typical weapons of war, it was two intercessors (mighty as they were) surrounded by prayer warriors fasting night and day to seek the face of God on behalf of the nation!
In our weakness, He is always made strong!
Days of humbling themselves, turning from their wicked ways, and seeking the face of God (2 Chronicles 7:14) brought forth a victory that is still felt in a tangible way among the nations of the earth. Look to your right then to your left, and you are sure to encounter a descendant of a Jewish person or one who converted to Judaism during this era. (Esther 8:17)
One may wonder why so many converted to Judaism as the new edict went forth. I believe, as steed and rider raced throughout the 127 provinces of the Persian Empire, there was indeed something—or Someone—travelling with these riders, the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord. When He descends upon nations, all tremble and shake in His presence! When you witness God move so mightily on behalf of a people or nation, and you hear the cry “Who is on the Lord’s side?” you jump to join in the ranks!
The impact of Esther and Mordecai’s stand for righteousness in the face of unbelievable odds is so great, the Feast of Purim is one of the major feasts celebrated by the Jewish people the world over. I encourage you to take this time to read through this short book found tucked after the book of Nehemiah. It’s 10 adventure-filled, power-packed, God-breathed chapters that will excite your spirit and ignite your faith as you see God reverse the plan of the enemy, no matter how great that plan is, in order to move on behalf of His people and set them free from tyrannical rule!
Friends, the enemy plans to take us out by crashing the economy. The loss of life, should they succeed, will be beyond that which was planned with covid, toxic trains, and war. We, however, are going to come before the Lord, humble ourselves and seek the face of God that He might hear from heaven and heal our land thereby reversing the edict of the enemy!
We, the intercessors, the mighty warriors of the King of kings and Lord of lords, will stand in the gap for those who do not even know or understand the tyranny facing them in the days ahead, so that one day, they too, will see the salvation of the Lord! Then, when the proclamation is made “Who is on the Lord’s side?” they will indeed jump to join our ranks!
