Dear Friends and Intercessors, NEW audio series available on the website: In December, we released a word from the Lord for 2018, The Refining Has Begun, Bringing forth a New Breed of Believers. Since then, He’s given me a series of teachings to expound on that word. There is a deep calling for those who will emerge this year, the refining will be intense, but it will give birth to a body of believers ready to lay down everything to carry the commission of God upon their lives. These believers will be the leaders of the end-time army. The series entitled, “The Refining Has Begun”, is located on the Intercessor’s Watch page of our website—with three sessions to date. If you feel the calling to go into the depths of God, I encourage you to prayerfully listen to these teachings and allow God to do His work in your life. Even as I type this, He is speaking to me… “I am releasing My grace now to embrace this call!” My dear sisters and brothers, this grace will carry you through the intensity of the refining process. It will not be easy, but His grace is sufficient. Amen!? Amen! Urgent Call to Join our Corporate Prayer this week: This morning, the Lord showed our team that this week is a critical week of intercession; both for the safety of our President, and the security of our Nation. I encourage you to join our corporate calls as we stand in the gap for both. As intercessors, it’s our responsibility to press in, especially in times of vulnerability. _________________________________________________________ CW Expansion Project Update:So far, we received monthly pledges for a total of $4401 toward the projected monthly budget increase of $6000! We’ve received just over 73% toward our increase! Thank you for standing with us in this endeavor! At CedarWood, our clients receive more than just food. They receive prayer as well. I’d like to share the following excerpt from our CW Weekly Report: Perhaps you will remember the report from last week about a woman who received prayer for MS. She told us she went back to her doctor for an exam and they found no indication of the disease in her brain, even though she had been told otherwise in previous visits. Praise God! We continue to pray and believe for her complete healing.
This is what you are helping us build; a community that cares for—and reaches out to—one another. Again, I invite you to participate in our CW Expansion Project with your pledge of support: Copy and paste the following statement into an email addressed to tiffany.wfjm@gmail.com. She will save your commitment letter and, if you like, sign you up to receive weekly updates with stats and personal stories from our Monday Pantry events. I/We commit to support the expansion work of CedarWood Int’l by my/our donation of ___________per month. “Newness of Life: Know No Bounds"
Part 1C
February 2, 2017
Newness of life—life of a true believer is transformed as we live to serve the Master who died for us, that He will have dominion over our lives, instead of death. We become renewed, servants of righteousness. And as servants of righteousness, we have committed our lives to Him as a bond-slave; we have gone to the doorpost of Christ and been pierced, committing our lives forever to serve Him. We walk with Him, living a life of Christ-likeness.
Jesus did not look at a person based on their religion, nationality, or social class. He was a man who walked and lived a life of true love for His fellow man. From the prostitute they were about to stone, to the tax collector who was ostracized by everyone (except his fellow tax collectors), to the fishermen, the Samaritan—all were embraced by our Lord because He saw through the external and looked right at their hearts. When He looked at their hearts, He knew what kind of persons they were.
In Romans 6, Paul tells us to walk in the “newness of life.” These are our guidelines for life, instructions to live a life that demonstrates one who’s given their life to Him. Romans 6:12 tells us, “Do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.” When He looks at our heart, what does He see? When He looks at our life, does He see a life reflective of one who is walking in the newness of life He’s granted us? Who are we obeying? Who are we yielding our lives to? When He looks at us, does He see a vessel yielded to righteousness (Rom. 6:13)? Have we yielded ourselves to Him so completely that when He looks at us, He sees a vessel ready to be used by Him, ready to obey Him? What are we yielding to? What are we obeying? What are we subjecting our lives to? Whose servant are we? That is what Paul was talking about. Why? Because “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life” through salvation, and Paul knows this isn’t just about a prayer, it’s a lifestyle.
As believers in the Kingdom today, we must know the One we serve. I have been praying over this ministry, this team, a lot. When we go deeper in the Word, we do so, not just because we love the Word, but because the Word transforms us. The power of the Word to transform us when we study it is unlike anything else. Prayer is essential; understanding the Word is essential. We must have both, we must. As I have been praying over the ministry, the team, intercessors, the Church, and understanding what we will be facing in the days ahead, I know that we are in a season where we must go deeper in God than ever before.
At the end of last year, the Lord spoke to me to “Know no bounds.” And I said, “Okay Lord, what does that mean? What exactly does that mean for us?” And I pray. And whenever I pray, whenever I study the Word, that phrase, even when we meet with various team members, that phrase starts to weave its way through my studies, my prayers and my conversations. What does it mean to “know no bounds,” Lord? What does it mean for us? What is our responsibility as students of the Word in this ministry? What are we waiting for? What is our responsibility here? To demonstrate to those around us whose door post we have been pierced upon? What is our responsibility? And little by little, He is imparting these nuggets into my heart, these powerful nuggets that compel us to move forward in Him through His Word.
What does it mean for Joel’s Army? God is raising up an army of intercessors that will have the mantle to bring stability to an entire nation. We are not to be limited or restricted, waiting for the lessons to come and the prayer points to come from above. Although those are essential—I am not saying they are not—we are to be seeking God for ourselves, on behalf of our nation, on behalf of our city, on behalf of our college campuses. We are to be seeking God, expanding our own relationship with Him, to a point that we receive of Him what He wants for our area. The mantle of Joel’s Army is a powerful mantle, one that grants the recipient spiritual authority in their area. We seek God to expand our reach.
Look at CedarWood—we have prayed and prayed and prayed that God will open a door for us to expand the Backpack Kids ministry. We wanted stay in our Pantry area, but the school district we used to be in now has their own network, taking care of their own children. What do we do, Lord? A couple of weeks ago we met with Kelly of Sky Valley Community Outreach because she was going to need more support in her area, an hour drive or so from us. I knew that God wanted us to move into that area where there is physical and emotional devastation, so I said, “Yes.”
Within a couple of days, we have gone from 35 kids to 152 kids that we will be supporting. And in that moment, the Lord said, “Here is a picture of ‘knowing no bounds’.” In this moment you can look at the finances and say, “Absolutely not! I am sorry, but the 10 bags of food that they want to give you—you are going to have to make a decision on who gets those bags.” Or I can take that step of faith and say, “God I am not going to put limits on them, these are children who need food. These are children, Lord God.” And I knew, that I knew, that I knew He said, “Do not even put boundaries on this situation. Trust in Me and I will provide. Trust in Me and I will provide. Give the people the opportunity to provide for these children.”
We need to step outside of ourselves and live a life that demonstrates a life of newness, reflective of the One who died for us. We put restrictions on ourselves. The agency that was supporting these children—their funding dried up, and they are just pulling out. The “restrictions” are based on the temporal, the things of the world, but the Lord said to “Know no bounds. Stop restricting yourself based on what man says and step into the faith I have imparted into your life.”
To be continued next week…
Blessings & Love,
Ricci
