Moses left Egypt with his gaze steadfastly on Christ and went out into the desert and lived there forty years until he finds himself at the burning bush confronted with the life of the spirit. As he stands there and sees, the Bible says it was the Angel of the LORD in the bush—what Moses saw was fire, this is the life of the Spirit. The Spirit is light, the Spirit realm in God is light and light that is so brilliant that to the human eye it looks like fire; it is true. There are times when I’ve been taken to heaven and when I come back, if I look in the mirror, my eyes are flames of fire and it is a terrifying sight, but I have been in the presence of the Holy One and light is filling my soul to the point—what did Jesus say about light filling the soul and being in the eyes? He warns us that if the soul is filled with darkness, how great is the darkness? But in the same respect, if your soul is filled with light and that light has been touched with the living God as it is when you’re in heaven, you come back and your eyes are flames of fire—I’ve see it and what it is, is light. But to my own eyes it looks like fire.
How many times do we see in the Bible that the person that just saw the vision of the Lord says that His body was a flame of fire or fire from his feet to his waist, from his waist to his head. It’s because that is the way we see light when it is that brilliant. Moses is standing before the Angel of the LORD, he doesn’t see an Angel, he sees a fire, and in this expression sent from the living God it is the call to the life of the spirit.
Moses has been in the desert for forty years being prepared for this revelation, this moment—to cause him to desire an abrupt change and transformation. He goes in, meets the Angel, the call is given, the commission is given. Moses’ heart is utterly changed; he has now been put on the fast track to transformation. By the time he gets back to Egypt to meet his brother Aaron, there has been a great transformation of his soul and before much longer he’s going to be ushered up to the mountain of the Lord where he is going to be transfigured into the image of Christ. In this place, all things change. Where does Moses spend his life? Going to the tent of meeting for personal visitation from God every day; every day God meets with Him to tell him what He wants him to do. I want to tell you that when you decide to leave Egypt behind and your soul is brought into this transition where you’re becoming transfigured every day, you will see Him every day. Because you chose Christ and not Egypt, He will honor you in that way.
Tough times are coming, tougher than we’ve ever known. This is a good time to press into the Lord. This is a good time to make Him number one, your sole passion and number one desire, so that when things get so difficult, you’re not even going to be mindful of it because your soul is filled with Jesus.
Father, you are mighty, wonderful and holy and you are calling your people out of Egypt. I will never forget standing face to face with that glorious Angel—sitting on that horse so great, big and beautiful, many times bigger than any horse I’ve ever seen on this earth, there he sat and he looked right into my eyes and says, “Tell My people to come out of Babylon, flee Babylon for Babylon has fallen.” That’s what he said to me. “Flee Babylon and come out of her, My people. Come out of her, My people, Babylon has fallen, tell the people!”
The call has gone forth into the spirit, Lord, and those whose hearts are set upon Christ are hearing it. Jesus said, “Where I am, there will My people (or My sheep) be also.” Those who really love Him, who are really listening to Him, are already in the process of making the transition of coming out of Egypt to stand in the presence of the living God. The Spirit is quickening their hearts and sharpening their senses to hate those things that steal them from God. They’re learning to discern according to the book of Hebrews. They’re learning to discern between things that will and will not profit—those things that are weighty and those things that are of no consequence. Their spiritual senses are being brought to a place of acuteness and they’re beginning to sense the stench of Egypt and they’re running from it and beginning to desire the fragrance of the kingdom of the living God. The call has gone out, Lord. How this call resounds in the earth, I don’t know. I know I saw the Angel give it. Come out of her, My people, Your Word is a sharp sword; it is a quickening agent that plunges into the heart, that is willing to liberate the heart from the corruption that destroys. The sword pierces between soul and spirit, cutting asunder, so that the one who loves God will discern that which is righteous, pure and true and desire it. The life of the soul is coming into a place of subordination to the life of the spirit. Send Your sword into our heart tonight, Lord! Cut asunder between soul and spirit by the living sword of the Lord. Lord, if we cannot walk with the foot soldiers today, we cannot ride with the cavalry tomorrow. Strengthen You Church and Your people; let the Vine strengthen and enablement come into their hearts and souls and in the midst of chaos may there be peace and tranquility of one living in Christ.
There are several keys, Lord; we must refuse Egypt and all that is stands for. We must find that the difficulties of living a Christian life are of more value than all of the treasures of Egypt, and we must behold Your face. Without beholding Your face in faith, we do not have the strength. There must be the brokenness and contrition of heart that only You can give, Lord. God give us a broken heart with a contrite spirit that we may walk in the presence of God. It is a place of beauty and grace, safety and rest, and a place of ongoing revelation. Truth piercing, cleansing, building up, reshaping, changing, transforming, transfiguring—this is what we desire, Lord. Help us to leave Egypt behind. You are too wonderful and great, Lord; You are so very powerful, we need only to look to You and we will be healed. Come, Lord Jesus; come to Your Church and Your nation. Come and make Your name known; lift up the Son that He be glorified in an unprecedented way in these last days and we will give You praise. Lord, we will glorify You, in Your precious name, amen.
In His Amazing Love,
