Dear Friends,
This morning the Lord spoke to me about this time we are setting ourselves aside to in our 10 Days to Pentecost prayer vigil! He said this "sacrifice has been a sweet smelling fragrance to His nostrils" and we should expect to see "chains weakening" and "pathways paved!"
Praise the Lord! We've repented for our rebellion against God and moved into repentance for our lack of love for "our neighbor and ourselves."
Our Lord gave us a precious guide that would enable us to be an house of prayer and a dwelling place for Him as He took the whole of the Law and encompassed it in His Sermon on the Mount. (Matthew 5-7) He then simplified it further with this passage at the end of His ministry, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-39)
Tonight, we will continue our preparation for Pentecost by repentance for breaking the 8th Commandment, "Thou Shalt Not Steal" Exodus 20:15.
There is great depth in these four words. We can consider it from a broader scale as we repent for the way politicians have forcibly or clandestinely taken from the people of the state to pad their own pockets and manipulate the future of nations. We can consider how the progressive agenda has stolen the destiny of our youth by aggressively pursuing them to cloud and indoctrinate their minds, manipulate their emotions, and/or provoke and ultimately use them to fulfill their corrupt agendas.
Bringing it in a little closer, we can repent for the way the church has taken from the offering plates and used it for their own agenda rather than pouring into the lives of those in need, missions that spread the Gospel, or other eternal outreaches.
And, on a love-thy-neighbor level, we can repent for intentional and/or passive larceny by failing to restore what's been borrowed and/or found.
We cannot finish this repentance without asking the Lord to show us how we have stolen time, talents and resources that He gifted us with by using them to serve ourselves rather than the One Who gave His life for us.
Alas, there is much to be repented for...
I encourage you to read the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 5-7 and ask the Lord to show you how you, your city, or your state have violated the Commandments of our Lord. Then, join us tonight as we continue our repentance before God in our "10 Days to Pentecost."
Remember: you have God-given authority in your state and nation, our prayer is that we'd have someone from each state on the line who canto pray during this important period before Pentecost. Come and pray with us tonight!
We will open the line from 6-7 PM PST (worship music will begin at 5:45 PM) to come in and repent for your city, state and country.
Our desire is to comfort the heart of God with our repentance and intercession and await His visitation as we head up to Pentecost.
See you tonight!
Blessings & love to you! Ricci Wilson
